Here Hai has one of the best crab fried rice dishes to the point that they literally call it “Insane Crab Fried Rice.” It’s generally topped with succulent chunks of fresh crab meat, and we’re impressed by the amount they put—you could barely see the rice.

And if you want to explore more seafood dishes, you could go for some crab omelets, mantis shrimp stir-fried with garlic and pepper, and grilled giant river prawns. This spot also earned a spot in the MICHELIN Guide’s Bib Gourmand category for good quality and value.

We also have to give them props for keeping the place clean and tidy despite its humble appearance. Plus, the staff are attentive and efficient—we could tell that they’re used to serving the guests even during peak hours.

Pro tip:
Given that it doesn’t have that much seating (only about 6-8 tables), it’s best to arrive early to secure a table without a long wait. And be sure to bring cash since they don’t take cards or cashless payments.

Talad Noi Crab Fried Rice is a famous stall that serves up crab fried rice, featuring generous portions of crab meat stir-fried with fragrant rice, surrounding the area with that “wok hei” aroma. And since it’s a street food stall, it gives you that authentic BKK sidewalk seating experience.

You can also explore other options they offer, including Hong Kong-style fried noodles, Singapore-style fried noodles, and fish maw soup.

Not to mention, with dishes priced between ฿80 and ฿300, this stall is an affordable spot to satisfy that crab fried rice craving, or if it’s something you’d like to try for the first time. And don’t worry about the surroundings since they’re keen on keeping things clean and neat.

Pro tip:
The stalls can get busy during peak hours. While reservations aren’t accepted, you can place orders in advance via phone to minimize waiting time when you get there.

Somboon Seafood has multiple branches across Bangkok, so you can expect them to be quite good. The place is famous for its Fried Curry Crab, which features succulent crab stir-fried in a rich, aromatic curry sauce—it’s better than it sounds.

We just had to mention the curry first since it’s just that memorable, but you can’t ignore their Crab Fried Rice, too, with fragrant jasmine rice topped with a nice heap of crab meat.

You can also try their other stuff—the menu’s quite extensive. Think dishes like Tom Yum Kung, stir-fried oysters with egg, deep-fried shrimps, and crab rolls. Just note that the prices are quite high, too.

Pro tip:
The place is popular, especially during peak hours. It’s advisable to make reservations in advance to avoid long wait times. And just to be sure, call for the availability of their items since some may sell out fast, especially the curry.

Located in the lively Chinatown district, Fikeaw Yaowarat has you covered for something casual and that vibrant street-side dining experience. We love that their large portion sizes of crab fried rice orders are consistent, and you’ll have a view of the entire cooking process.

Their menu has other seafood dishes, such as stir-fried crab with curry powder, grilled prawns, and oyster omelets. We also appreciate that they stick to fresh ingredients, which is no surprise considering the number of orders they cook.

Lastly, going late at night gives off a different vibe. After all, it’s a popular late-night stop for locals and foodies who need that midnight seafood fix, for good reason.

Pro tip:
Ask for the crab fried rice with “no MSG” if you’re sensitive, and request soft-fried egg on top—locals do this for that added creamy richness. Also, bring cash—they don’t cater to tourists with QR codes or cards.

Dragon Seafood

If you want a more polished, indoor dining space with air-conditioning, Dragon Seafood might be the place for you. They’ve got spacious tables, and there’s even a clean, organized seafood market-style display where you can pick your ingredients.

We love how they don’t skimp on their signature crab fried rice. Served in generous portions, the rice is studded with jumbo lumps of real crab meat, so no crab-passing shreds here.

And like we said, they’ve got a whole market in there, so expect more seafood platters featuring grilled lobster, river prawns, scallops, and rock crab. You can also mix and match the seafood items to your liking.

Pro tip:
Go for the set menus if you’re dining as a group—these usually include crab fried rice, seafood platters, and drinks at a lower price than ordering à la carte.

The Ministry of Crab sounds like a regulatory body for crabs, and it doesn’t seem that far-fetched, at least for us. What makes them special is their “crab sizes by weight” approach—you can choose crabs from 500g to over 2kg, and everything is wild-caught and prepared fresh.

Their crab fried rice is elevated—made with fragrant basmati rice and large chunks of succulent crab that’s wok-tossed to smoky perfection. We also noticed that the menu is straightforward with crab, prawn, and a few rice and noodle options.

And you could probably tell their dining experience is upscale (same goes for their prices) and intimate. Their Bangkok location has a sleek look with wood-accented interiors and an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work.

Pro tip:
Book your table in advance through their website, especially for weekend diners—walk-ins are rarely successful. And the crab fried rice pairs perfectly with their Garlic Chili Prawns—don’t miss out.

SEA Bangkok

SEA Bangko is nicely set in a polished, glass-front space with an industrial chic interior—it feels contemporary but not cold or uptight. It’s a good spot for date nights, small group dinners, or solo foodie experiences.

We also love how the crab fried rice is elegantly plated with chunks of buttery blue crab, and rice fresh off the wok (fluffy and not greasy). Plus, a side of house-made chili vinegar adds the perfect acidic cut.

As for the rest of their offerings, expect a creative twist on traditional Thai seafood, like fusion dishes like grilled scallops with tom yum foam, or squid ink risotto topped with Thai herbs.

Pro tip:
Don’t skip dessert—the pandan panna cotta and lemongrass crème brûlée are standout endings that mirror the creativity of the mains. And if you want something spicy, their seafood salad perfectly balances heat and flavor.

19seafood

Menu

19seafood has this modest front from the outside, but it delivers big on flavor. We notice how the focus is clearly on freshness, like grilled river prawns, steamed fish with lime and chili, and stir-fried clams are all crowd-pleasers.

Speaking of freshness, their signature crab fried rice is served on a massive platter with a nice heap of real crab meat. The rice is subtly seasoned to let that crab goodness shine, and it’s big enough for the table.

It’s worth noting that the place fills up fast after 6 PM with locals, not tourists, which is always a good sign. We gathered that people come here for casual seafood dinners without the inflated tourist prices or fancy plating.

Pro tip:
This place is a bit traditional with payments, so make sure to bring cash. Also, if you’re visiting with a group, call ahead to receive a table as it gets packed quickly after dark.

Werng Crab Fried Rice is all about quick service and generous plates. It’s a grab-a-plate-and-go kind of place that locals love for a fast, delicious bite or dinner without frills—expect your food within minutes of ordering.

They load up that fried rice with a mountain of sweet, flaky crab meat, and the rice itself is light, dry-fried Thai-style with a hint of smokiness from the wok. It’s even served with lime wedges and spicy seafood dipping sauce.

Though it operates like a street-side eatery, the kitchen and serving areas are clean and well-kept. Seating is simple—plastic stools and metal tables—but the turnover is high and the area is kept tidy.

Pro tip:
It’s best to arrive as soon as they open since people fill up the place pretty quickly. And don’t forget to prepare cash for payment.

Tucked just off Silom Road, Lek Seafood blends the feel of a traditional Thai seafood joint with central Bangkok convenience. It’s popular with both locals and tourists, especially those staying near Patpong Night Market.

Their version of crab fried rice is homey—lightly seasoned, not greasy, and filled with tender chunks of fresh crab meat. We’d say it’s a solid go-to for anyone craving something straightforward and hearty.

And if you’ve still got room for more, you can try other dishes like their stir-fried morning glory, chili crab, garlic prawns, and whole steamed fish in lime sauce. Plus, the prices are affordable with generous portions.

Pro tip:
If you’re not great with spice, you can specify the heat level of your order. And ask for the house seafood sauce on the side—it’s tangy, spicy, and pairs well with the crab fried rice.

SOMA Bangkok’s take on crab fried rice is elevated yet soulful, think jumbo lumps of blue crab meat with fragrant jasmine rice, garlic, and that nice hint of fish sauce. We love the golden drizzle of crab fat with a side of nam prik kapi (spicy shrimp paste dip)!

This place also blends Thai street food with modern techniques. Imagine grandma’s recipe reimagined with precision, like their Minced Pork in Plum Soup with cowslip flowers or Grilled Crispy Pork belly with makwaen relish.

And if you’re wondering about the atmosphere, it’s a vibrant, artsy canteen in the Siam Scape building with long communal tables for group dining. It’s like a mix of fine dining with less fuss, and more buzz from the open kitchen.

Pro tip:
Book a weekday lunch to avoid crowds, and ask the chef’s seasonal special—they often test daring new twists on Thai staples.

Beyond this popular dish, you can also go for their shrimp toast, fried pork belly with garlic, and housemade dipping sauces that add punch to every plate. And if you want something that’s not seafood, then we’d recommend their fried chicken wings—crispy and tender.

We also appreciate their staff who are happy to walk you through the ordering process, especially if you’re a tourist.

Pro tip:
It’s best to bring cash just in case, since there have been times when their POS machine wouldn’t accept foreign cards.

Puu Tong is situated in a quiet alley just off Sukhumvit Road, and is a local favorite that draws in crowds of office workers and longtime residents. It’s a modest, open-air setup that provides a no-fuss dining experience.

They’re straightforward about their crab fried rice too—the menu shows you three different sizes, from small to large, priced from around ฿120 to ฿300. Yes, it’s pretty cheap, but don’t be fooled, they serve hefty plates per order that’s loaded with fresh, sweet crab meat.

And don’t forget to grab a side of Nam Jim Talay (sweet-sour-salty green chili sauce), it gives that extra something to their already delicious dish.
