We chose Bangkok Mental Health Hospital because they’re a private hospital that focuses on helping patients find the best quality of life. The clean and modern space is a plus!

Checking further, we found that they have state-of-the-art technologies that can better help their patients. Plus, it’s cool they also offer cutting-edge treatment plans customised for each individual.

It’s also worth highlighting that they don’t stick to one treatment plan for those with autism. Instead, they combine various approaches, like therapies, interventions, and medications, for a more successful outcome.

We also want to note that they provide resources to families that can help them cope with the situation and have access to a supportive network. 

The cost will depend on the treatment plan. But from what we’ve seen, their high-quality service matches their rates!

It’s a bummer there have been some hiccups regarding scheduling urgent appointments. Nonetheless, they’ve been professional in addressing it all!

Rajanukul Institute started out small in the 1960s but has now expanded to a bigger and better building. When we visited, we really liked the space because it provided a calm environment.

Moreover, they have three autistic wards: for 1 to 5 years old, for 2 to 5 years old ready to attend school, and for 6 to 18 years old. There are even separate wards for Down Syndrome patients and for those with intellectual disabilities.

Another notable aspect is their Continuing Care in the Community service. With this, patients of all ages are monitored at home and at school—a great help to families and caretakers because they can be better guided. 

Their nursing or multidisciplinary team can also do a home visit if the patient has special care needs and is unable to go to the hospital, which is very convenient!

Plus, we like the variety of programs they offer. Many kids with autism have learned new skills, have better communication, and express their needs with these.

We just encountered a delayed response to our inquiries, so we hope they can work on this aspect.

Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in Thailand, as it has earned prestigious recognition over the years. Conveniently located in the heart of Bangkok, it has over 500 highly-trained medical professionals.

It’s incredible they have a multilingual staff, which is very helpful when communicating with expats and medical tourists. On top of that, their close location to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport means they can transport patients there easily.

We want to put a spotlight on their Special Needs Child Center (it’s available in Srinakarin and their other hospital, Sukhumvit). With their programs, they help promote physical and psychological development from an early age.

Plus, it’s awesome they provide various individual or group therapies, such as art, play, and music, to help improve the social skills of patients with autism. It’s such a fun learning environment, which is great!

Sadly, some therapies are not available in their other hospitals, but they are mostly in Srinakarin.

Bangpakok 9 International Hospital, or BPK9 International Hospital, is one of our choices for autism in Thailand. They have a bSmart Center, which is specifically for individuals ages 0 to 18.

When we checked them out, we really appreciated how professional the staff was. The non-stressful environment was a massive plus, which was elevated by their friendly staff.

We also appreciate that they are equipped to provide different kinds of treatments and therapies. They use modern technologies that can stimulate training, such as behavioural correction and speech therapy.

Another aspect worth highlighting is their highly experienced team from a wide array of fields who can help with IQ and EQ development. Plus, they have autism experts who can speak Thai and English, allowing them to cater to foreign nationals.

However, their bSmart Center is only open Fridays to Sundays. On a good note, their prices are actually more affordable than other hospitals in Thailand.

Vejthani Hospital is one of Thailand’s private international hospitals that largely caters to foreign nationals. What makes them stand out is their internationally trained specialists and advanced technologies.

During our visit, we were in awe of their world-class facilities. They have dining and shopping establishments inside the hospital, as well as a hotel nearby for foreign nationals who travelled to Thailand for a medical exam.

We also like their Super Kid’s Center, which provides paediatric therapy and counselling for individuals with special needs.

They actually have two clinics for kids with autism: the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic and the Neurology and Developmental Pediatrics Clinic.

Additionally, these centres have excellent facilities for families, like an English hotline, a play area, and divided areas for healthy and sick kids. The icing on the cake is the colourful and fun environment!

However, they’re not as accessible as others, budget-wise. Then again, the high cost means you get the best experience.
