Cons

Bangkok Music & Dance Academy (BMDA) was established in 1982 and offers a comprehensive musical education at the world level in both practical and theoretical music.
Additionally, it provides a variety of individual and group dance and music lessons. It provides courses for everyone starting with introductory classes and progressing to intermediate levels.
We especially like how careful the academy is to pair the appropriate student with the perfect teacher. Notably, exceptional new teachers are consistently recruited.
Considering this, we are confident that taking guitar lessons from this academy will significantly advance students’ knowledge, abilities, and talent.
We also enjoy that BMDA has respective facilities for all courses. Plus, you can rent some of it on an hourly basis.
Another thing we love about BMDA is that it offers the largest range of music books in Bangkok, encompassing all genres such as Classical, Jazz, Blues, Musicals, Movies, Pop, Rock, Country, Gospel, and so on.
Furthermore, the academy is a WITTNER metronome supplier and can source all musical instruments. The best part is that you can pick it up at BMDA or have it delivered for free to your home.
However, we are quite disappointed that the courses offered here are on the pricey side. For example, its guitar lessons cost about 1000 THB for only 50 minutes.
Despite this, we think it’s only fair because of the great facilities that the academy offers and the wide range of courses it offers.

Pros
- Offers wide range of services

- Has a unique approach to every learner
- Has expert and knowledgeable staff

Cons
- Expensive rates
One of Thailand’s first music schools, Yamaha Music School, was founded in 1966. Using the curriculum created by the Yamaha Music Foundation of Japan, it has since solidified its position as a national leader in music instruction.
It also has several branches around Thailand, and we adore how accessible they are all. Finding a Yamaha Music School near you won’t be difficult because more than 25 branches offer guitar lessons around Bangkok.
Regarding its guitar lessons, Yamaha offers classical, acoustic, and electric guitar courses.
We enjoy that lessons are taught using unique textbooks and repertoires developed with Yamaha’s extensive experience, allowing both seasoned users and those who are beginners to guitar to start lessons with confidence.
Furthermore, lessons begin with the fundamentals, including right-hand picking, left-hand fingering, and understanding TAB sheet music.
The length of each course varies. The minimum for guitar lessons is 24 months and lasts about one hour per class.
We also appreciate that Yamaha is open to students aged six and up. So whether a learner is a beginner or an expert player, it gives lessons to meet their demands.
Another feature of Yamaha that stands out from our perspective is that students here participate in various school activities all year long to showcase their musical potential.
Every three months, the school will also have a concert, and students will also get the chance to perform on stages abroad, including the Yamaha Thailand Music Festival and international competitions.
Since it is a well-established music school, you can expect excellent education from its skilled teaching staff.
However, we find Yamaha’s rates to be on the pricey side. Regardless, we think it’s only fair given the excellent service and quality of education it provides.

Pros
- Offers a wide variety of services
- Has serene environment
- Offers private lessons
- Professional and qualified staff
- Has a proven track record
Cons
- Does not offer classes for electrical instruments
- Pricier tuition
Aum Aree Music School focuses on classical and acoustic instruments.
The school employs music educators with extensive experience, and have studied music at top colleges domestically and abroad. They also passed selection tests in practice, theory, and teaching psychology.
With its high reviews across different platforms, it’s safe to say that over the past 20 years, Aum Aree has proven it is a quality music school.
We also like the school’s serene environment, perfect for practicing classical and acoustic instruments.
Although the school is open to adults, it is more likely to see that it accommodates children. In short, almost all of its students are 18 years old and below.
Finally, we adore that they provide personalized classes. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea to perform well in group settings, so taking lessons privately is a fantastic benefit.
However, we found some major drawbacks. First, although the professors and lessons are all top-notch, the cost is higher than that of some of its rivals.
Also, the schools do not offer courses in electric instruments. So, if you’re up for enhancing your skills in electric guitars, this school is not for you.
Overall, if you want to learn how to play the guitar, we completely support Aum Aree. Thanks to the teachers it hires, it has a history of generating top-notch students.

Pros
- Offers other services and expertise
- Offers private guitar lessons
- Highly skilled staff
Cons
- Does not provide recitals/concerts for guitar students
Although the academy’s name only states piano, it also offers lessons for other musical instruments such as guitar, drums, violin, cello, and ukelele.
Given that it was only recently founded, The Piano Academy of Bangkok might be regarded as a newcomer on our list. However, this music school unquestionably has many features up its sleeve.
We enjoy that complete novices can come in and improve their instrument talents here, starting at age five, along with experienced learners.
Notably, this academy can point to a long record of students who have succeeded in regional and worldwide tournaments. This impressive feature gives us great trust in the academy’s quality of instruction.
In terms of guitar lessons, it is only offered privately.
Although some individuals prefer to learn in a group setting, we believe that private guitar lessons will allow the instructor to provide you with more one-on-one attention, which could lead to more advanced learning.
Finally, several of our respondents stated that they appreciated the instrument more after receiving lessons from the instructors at this institute.
The only disadvantage of this institution that we notice is that it does not provide recitals or concerts for guitar students.
Besides that, we think Piano Academy Bangkok is a great option for acquiring private guitar lessons due to its qualified music instructors.

Pros
- Offers a wide variety of services
- Provides group and individual classes
- Has accommodating and skilled staff
- Personalized lesson plans
Cons
- Expensive rates
Established in 1989, Churairat Music is one of Thailand’s most well-known music businesses. But, unknown to many, Churairat established its school the same year it joined the music industry.
We appreciate that Churairat offers additional services, including instrument rentals, music seminars, and the sale of publications about various genres of music in addition to music lessons.
We also value the academy’s accessibility to young people. Basic to intermediate levels are taught to students starting at age seven.
Additionally, we appreciate that lesson plans are tailored to each student’s abilities and personality, as well as the requirements of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), England.
In addition to learning how to play an instrument, students receive aural training and coaching in musical symbols and exercises to improve their rhythmic, singing, and listening abilities.
The guitar lessons are open for group and private classes. However, private courses are more expensive when it comes to pricing, starting at 2,600 THB each month.
In addition, each lesson lasts up to 60 minutes and is conducted once per week.
However, we discovered that in addition to the courses’ costs, there is a registration fee of 300 THB, which does not include lesson books, and a monthly fee that must be paid upfront.
With that, we believe Churairat is not ideal for someone with lower income streams.
Regardless, we consider Churairat a great option for guitar lessons because of its proven track record and wide range of services.
