Discover the 5 Best Art and Handcraft Schools in Bangkok to Unleash Creativity
A close friend once came to me heartbroken and searching for a way to quiet her thoughts. Instead of endless advice, I suggested something different—enrolling in an art and handcraft school in Bangkok, a place where she could pour her emotions into colour, clay, and texture.
What started as a simple distraction turned into a healing routine. Surrounded by brushes, fabrics, and woodwork, she found focus in creating, and each new skill gave her a sense of accomplishment that slowly stitched her confidence back together.
Watching her journey made me realise how powerful these schools are—not just for learning, but for self-expression and growth. If you’re looking to explore your creative side, or even find a new outlet, here are the best art and handcraft schools in Bangkok to unleash creativity and practise mastery.

Gigipayne Studio surprised us in the best possible way. From the start, it was easy to make inquiries, with their clear, informative, and friendly communication! It made us feel like we were talking to someone who genuinely cared about our creative journey.
We enrolled in a mix of their hands-on classes: batik, mandala dots, watercolour painting, doodle art, eco-print workshop, and ceramic painting. Each workshop was held in a calm, well-organised space where the materials were already prepared for us.
Moreover, their classes aren’t just about making art—they’re tied to sustainability. For example, during the eco-print workshop, we learned techniques rooted in local flora and got tips on how to recreate the process at home with ease.
They’ve also launched new courses, such as string art and crochet, and we noticed they offer a generous 50% discount for kids, which is a great incentive for families.
The only downside is that their online course selection remains quite limited for those who can’t attend in person.

We were initially excited about trying Aromdee Art Studio after hearing good things online, but one thing became clear early in our inquiry: if you’re expecting structured instruction or deep technical guidance, this might not fully deliver.
Based on the way the classes were described, it seemed more like a casual, self-led session with minimal instructor input. This may work for some, but those looking to learn rather than just do might find it lacking.
That said, Aromdee still stands out as one of the more welcoming and calming creative spaces in Bangkok. The studio is located in the Chatuchak area, in a charming house-like space that instantly puts you at ease.
We found it easy to inquire through their website, and the team responded quickly via LINE with details about their classes, which range from wheel throwing and handbuilding to underglaze painting.
The Little Potter program for kids also seems quite popular among local families.
A fun place to learn pottery

De Bloo Studio is a peaceful spot that’s perfect for anyone wanting to try leathercraft without feeling overwhelmed. We dropped by to inquire about their workshops and ended up staying longer than planned because of how welcoming the space felt.
During our visit, the staff took time to walk us through the course options—ranging from half-day clutch-making to full-day bag workshops and even more advanced classes. The pricing is transparent, and all materials are included.
The leather quality looked premium, and you’ll get to personalise your work with details like name stamping. What stood out most was how hands-on and beginner-friendly the whole setup is.
They also allow you to choose between pre-punched leather or taking on more advanced stitching techniques. Everything from the vibe to the instruction feels thoughtful and beginner-safe.
During our visit, we couldn’t spot any first aid kit available in the work area, which seemed like a small but notable oversight for a workshop that uses sharp tools.
Very patient instructors
“It was very fun trying out leather making! There’s plenty of options of the duration of the class as well as product selections so it was very nice to have a few hours of quiet crafting 🙂 The instructors were very patient and explain the tasks in detail so it is easy for anyone who has interest to try on leather making!”

Paron School of Art immediately stands out for its calm, stylish atmosphere and diverse class offerings. When we dropped by to inquire, the staff were genuinely welcoming and eager to answer our questions—no pressure, just good conversations.
We appreciated how they walked us through every program, from holiday camps for kids to adult-focused courses like Art & Wine and structured drawing classes. It’s clear this place attracts students of all ages and levels.
Several parents we spoke with couldn’t stop praising the improvement they’ve seen in their children’s confidence and creativity over time. The studio itself is beautiful—an inspiring space to work in—and the instructors come with strong professional backgrounds.
English is the primary language of instruction, which makes it approachable for expat families or international students.
While ideal for older kids and adults, younger children needing emotional support may find the teaching approach less adaptable.
Very inspiring workshop
“Our daughter had an amazing week at art camp here! She loved all the teachers and the creativity they inspired in her. We all felt super comfortable even though we were new to the school. Thank you Paron and team! We will be back ♥️”

We first found out about Sanit Handmade through a friend who had taken their weekend ceramic class and couldn’t stop raving about the calm atmosphere. Curious, we gave them a call and were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm.
The staff was kind and helpful, switching between Thai and English with ease. They gave us a full breakdown of the workshop options—ceramic glazing, pottery wheel sessions, clay sculpting for kids and adults, and even a special double-glass class.
We were told you don’t need prior experience at all. Whether you’re solo, on a date, or with a family, they make it simple and approachable.
However, their website could use a bit of a revamp—we found it difficult to navigate due to layout issues and excessive spacing.
Still, once you get through the call or chat, the booking and inquiry experience is smooth.
Impressive ceramic course
“Ceramics Course C1 was very impressive. The teacher was kind, the atmosphere was lovely, and there was even a café on site.”
