Pros
- Great for resin and sculpting art supplies
- Helpful, knowledgeable staff
- Accessible location
- Has ample parking spaces
- Nationwide delivery
- Fair pricing
Cons
- Closes at 5:00 PM
- Closed on Sundays
We bet you’ve seen many resin art videos on the internet trending over the past few years. If you want to get your hands on this trend, RUNGART, especially its second branch in Ratchapruek, can help you make your resin art!
We think RUNGART is easily the authority for resin and moulding-casting art supplies in Bangkok. But we love that aside from resin mixes, glitters to add to them, and sculpting and painting equipment, it also offers media such as clay, silicone, and fibreglass.
RUNGART’s main store at Prannok Road in Bangkok Noi has been operating since 1992. However, we chose its younger Ratchapruek branch in Taling Chan because it’s bigger and has a more extensive inventory, making it more conducive to shopping.
We loved that its pricing is fair, and the sales staff are very attentive and accommodating. In addition, tt’s not hard to shop for many materials in-store because there’s ample parking.
RUNGART also delivers nationwide for those who live beyond Bangkok, so check out their great website for the list of items for sale. However, in our opinion, nothing beats the experience of shopping here in person!
We’re just a bit sad that RUNGART closes quite early at 5:00 PM and isn’t open on Sundays.

Pros
- Accessible location
- Vast, quality inventory
- Reasonable pricing
- SME with a personalised service
- Online shopping available
Cons
- Cash and mobile banking payments only
- Minimum online order requirement of THB 100
- Closed on Sundays
Nanapun Tha Phra Chan is a small stationery and art supply shop in the Phra Nakon district.
This humble store caught our attention because of the glowing reviews from our respondents, even if it’s just a small-and-medium-sized enterprise (SME). We can’t help but feel nostalgic and warm for its mom-and-pop shop look with products sitting behind the counter.
Nanapun is one of the best places for drafting supplies, rulers, pencils, and different paints and brushes—you can even find airbrushing equipment here. According to its website, its most popular products are watercolours, watercolour paper, and acrylic paints.
You can shop in-store, but store policy limits your access to the outside or on the sidewalk. The owner or salesperson will assist you with utmost care and expertise nonetheless.
On the other hand, you can also shop at Nanapun in the comfort of your home via its official website. Admittedly, it looks a bit outdated, but all the necessary information on ordering and payment is explained in detail on the site.
Either way, shopping at Nanapun is excellent because of its extensive inventory of quality products and reasonable pricing. Some may even argue that it has the best prices for art supplies in town!
One downside of being a minor player in the stationery industry is that this store only accepts cash payments in-store and mobile banking for online purchases. Furthermore, a minimum order of THB 100 is required for online shopping too.

Pros
- Great location
- Ideal for art students
- Well-established chain store
- Online shopping is available
Cons
- Customer service needs improvement
- No parking spaces
- Closed on Sundays
Somjai is one of Thailand’s most prominent school and office supply stores. It has seven locations in Bangkok alone, but for this article, we looked at its main branch in Phra Nakhon.
Admittedly, we found the setup at this branch quite amusing and awkward.
Somjai at Phra Nakhon has two stores separated by two other commercial establishments along one side of a road. Unfortunately, this setup means you must leave and pay for the items in one location if you need something else from the other – which is quite inconvenient.
Notably, it is located right across from the Poh-Chang Academy of Arts, the oldest art school in the country, and the Suankularb Wittayalai School for secondary students. Therefore, it’s no wonder it also carries supplies for the art students of Bangkok.
We like that the store looks inviting and well-organised inside and out—very fitting for the student market. Most of our respondents also agree that it has everything they need for art purposes.
However, we think there are a few things that the Somjai Phahurat branch needs to improve on.
First is with its staff. Many of our customer respondents noted inconsistent service, and we think this is perhaps due to the low number of staff serving this branch’s sizeable customer base.
Next is product pricing. Although generally economical, some customers have reported experiencing discrepancies between tag prices and what is actually charged at the cashier.
We hope Somjai has already started working on these issues for better customer service.
Also, due to its location, there is no parking available. However, you can order online through its website or Shopee store.

Pros
- Over 30 years in business
- Very near BTS Phra Khanong
- Wholesale and retail prices
- Spacious store
- Great service staff
- Open everyday
Cons
- Minimal parking
- Closes early on Sundays
Another head office on our list, the King Thong Stationery Company, has been standing for over 30 years. It offers art, drafting, architecture supplies, and typical office stationery.
It’s very accessible, being just less than five minutes away from BTS Phra Khanong. So, you can easily see it even before descending from the station.
Art enthusiasts can roam its two floors for anything you need for art, so make sure to leave some time in your schedule when visiting this place. We also love that staff are knowledgeable and speak decent English.
The ground floor comprises quality office supplies, paints, and brushes. On the other hand, the second floor is where you’ll find different canvas sizes.
For us, this shop’s main advantage is its ability to sell products for wholesale prices. Therefore, if you own a small art supplies store, King Thong Stationery is an excellent choice for buying your inventory.
Because of this great pricing, our respondents, mostly retail customers, also love King Thong Stationery. We also love that it’s open on all days of the week, for we have a longer window for shopping for art supplies after working from Monday to Friday.
The premises are spacious for roaming around, but the parking outside is as narrow and limited as possible. Unfortunately, it’s already on the sidewalk and can get rather full, especially with suppliers’ delivery trucks.

Pros
- One-stop shop for painting supplies
- Carries top international brands
- Has express delivery services
Cons
- Premium pricing
- Sales staff can still improve their service
If you’re looking for a store that specialises in supplies for painting art, then the aptly-named Siam Art Supply Co. might be a perfect choice. It is the “first specialized art supplies store since 1998.”
Siam Art Supply is a store that carries everything you can think of relevant to painting art with oil, acrylic, pastel, or watercolour. Here, you can buy accessories and equipment like brushes, easels, canvases, etching presses, and projectors.
We love this one-stop shop aspect since shopping for materials for a painting here will be very efficient.
If you’re doubtful about the quality of its products, rest assured that Siam Art Supply only sells the best professional brands. Some noteworthy ones are Old Holland oils from the Netherlands, Golden Artist Colors acrylics from the USA, and Holbein watercolours from Japan.
However, given its premium line of products, we are not surprised by the equally premium price one has to pay for the best art supplies in Bangkok.
Another thing that bothered us a little bit was some of our respondents’ opinions about the store’s customer service. For example, although we love that it offers express delivery within a day or two, the attitude and helpfulness of its in-store staff could still improve.
