Riding a motorcycle around Bangkok is one of the rare experiences you need to try out at least once. Sure, the city has some great transportation options but there’s nothing like having your own bike to cruise around the urban area with the wind on your face!

Thankfully, there are a number of bike rental shops offering different kinds of bikes, scooters, and mopeds around Bangkok. You can also choose the brand and the displacement depending on your preference and need for speed.

Let’s look at what each one has to offer in our list of the best bike rentals in Bangkok!

Pros

  • Great variety of bike brands, types, and displacements
  • Reasonably priced
  • Helpful add-ons for monthly rentals

Cons

  • Limited stocks

BSR Bike Shop – Motorbike & Scooter Rental offers a comprehensive array of services that you need to check out for all your bike rental needs. We think their variety of available bikes for rent are awesome and the extra services are definitely a nice touch.

We like that clients can go for touring bikes that can be used for longer trips, thanks to their larger displacements and stronger engines. There’s also the option for you to rent city bikes which are mostly automatic scooters perfect for city streets and alleys.

Notably, these different bikes also come in different brands such as Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and even a Vespa if you want a ride that is more unique. Aside from variety, we also can’t help but be pleased with the inclusions of each bike rental.

We liked that If you avail of their monthly rentals, you get free use of the shop’s helmet plus delivery to your location along with some insurance coverage.

Not only did they think of your convenience but this bike rental shop actually cares about your welfare as a customer!

We also found the rates offered by the shop to be fairly reasonable. For instance, a city bike will only cost 2,500 THB per month plus a 2000 THB deposit.

But we strongly suggest that you call the shop in advance as their bikes for rent can get booked pretty quickly.

Pros

  • Good value for money for long-term rentals
  • Group tours are being offered
  • Decent variety of motorbikes for rent

Cons

  • Bikes can get rented out pretty quickly
  • No other services aside from bike rentals

Next on our list is a bike rental store that is perfect if you want to go on a motorbike tour around Bangkok and Thailand: Emma Motorbike Rental! They have group packages for your different needs including big bike motor tours and city bike rentals for couples.

We think it’s a big plus that you can choose from a wide selection of big bikes and city bikes depending on how fast you want to go and what kind of riding you want to do.

Another thing we noted is that while their big bikes have higher displacements which makes them better on open highways, a 150cc scooter should be enough for you within the city.

What we really liked about their selection of motorcycles though is that they offer dirt bikes. You can hit the unpaved roads of Thailand with this bad boy and enjoy your time here even more!

We also liked that their fleet of motorcycles is maintained and ready for use regardless of your riding style. It also helps that you can get long-term and short-term rentals from  Emma Motorbike Rental as longer rentals are usually more cost-effective.

The few downsides we noticed though is that the bikes can get rented out pretty quickly so we recommend calling at least a week before you visit this shop to rent a bike.

Also, aside from motorbike rentals, there’s not much on offer from Emma Motorbike Rental. We think it would have been nice if they offered driver’s licence services or insurance coverage for their customers.

Pros

  • Great variety of services
  • Affordable  motorbike rentals
  • Offers beginner lessons

Cons

  • Big bike rentals can be a bit pricey

You can consider Fatboy’s Motorbike Rentals Bangkok to be a one-stop shop for all your motorbike needs when in Thailand! We love how they offer many different kinds of motorbikes for rent ranging from small scooters to larger 300 cc motorbikes.

We were quite impressed that the shop also has one of the cheapest scooter rental options we’ve seen as a budget option that will only cost you around 2,000 THB per month.

We also think that their larger motorbikes are still worth the 5,500 THB monthly rental but these will give you a stronger and faster ride.

Another bonus is that you can just go for their automatic scooters if you’re just a beginner so you won’t have to think about playing with the bike’s clutch.

Plus, we think it’s fantastic and convenient that Fatboy’s Motorbike Rentals Bangkok can offer you beginner lessons to learn the basics of operating a motorbike.

We also liked that most of the customers we spoke with claimed that the bikes they rented were all well-maintained and it was obvious that their units were prepped well before they were rented out.

Since they also offer mechanic services, you’ll also have a worry-free experience if you rent from them as the shop can efficiently and quickly address any repairs your rental might need– a big plus in our books!

Lastly, we found it impressive that renting from their shop is also quite convenient as they can deliver the unit to your doorstep and even pick it up once you’re done.

It’s obvious that this shop wants to make you feel special so we highly recommend that you check out what they have to offer!

Pros

  • Well-maintained big bikes
  • Biking gear is also offered for rent
  • Good value for money for long-term rentals

Cons

  • No city bikes or small scooters for rent

Big Bike Rental Bangkok will surely get your heart racing thanks to the big bikes and large displacements they’ve got at this store! We liked that the rentals being offered are quite special as they are all big bikes from some of the most well-known brands.

We were quite amazed that you can choose from either a Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Ducati and go on an adventure tour of Thailand with some impressive engine power behind your rented big bikes.

We think it’s amazing that this shop will make it possible for you to go on a cross-country tour – from Laos to Myanmar!

We also liked that these big bikes for rent can be delivered and picked up from where you’re staying in Thailand. It’s quite a convenient offer that we think will help you enjoy your ride without worrying too much about the trip back to the shop to return the unit.

We also liked the fact that they have some impressive biking gear for you to rent. You can rent a full-face helmet, some action cameras, and even a top box if you plan on bringing some equipment while you ride around the city or even outside Bangkok.

We strongly suggest that you go for long-term rentals as you can get very good value for money if you do. You can get up to 40% discounted rates depending on how long you’ll rent their bike for– an impressive discounted rate if you ask us.

Pros

  • Good selection of scooters
  • Affordable price points for different scooters.

Cons

  • Limited options when it comes to the type of bikes available (no big bikes)

As its name implies, Rent Scooter Bangkok offers scooter and city bike rentals. So if you’re looking to do some city cruising or just go for a chill ride around Bangkok, we highly recommend that you look at what they’ve got to offer.

Their automatic scooters don’t have large displacements and most are just around 100 to 200 cc. We think this is adequate enough to get you to where you want to go– plus it’s easier to handle and manoeuvre especially if you’re a beginner.

We were highly impressed with the cheap rates of their motorcycles as you can rent one for 3 days for only 800 THB. We also liked that their bikes are also quite well-maintained which means you don’t have to worry about bike breakdowns or accidents!

While rentals will usually come with basic gear such as a helmet, we would have liked it more if they offered other types of bikes (manual transmission and big bikes). They also currently do not have any other services aside from scooter rentals– which is a bummer!

All in all, though, we think that if you’re after a no-frills experience when renting a small displacement bike, Rent Scooter Bangkok is a must-visit!
