Doi Pui Camping Area is one of the more popular camping sites in Chiang Mai. It’s in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, so staying here gives you many opportunities for fun nature adventures, from hiking to animal spotting, cycling, and more.
In fact, this camping area is connected to the Doi Pui Nature Trail which is frequented for its morning sea of mist and over 350 recorded bird species. This place also has a trusty visitor’s center with a Thai restaurant, welfare store, and charging station.
Clean bathroom and shower facilities are also in place so you’re covered for your personal hygiene. They also have mountain bikes for rent in case you like to visit the nearby Doi Hua Moo Viewpoint and Hmong Doi Pui Village.
Pro Tip:
The bathrooms in Doi Pui Camping Area don’t have hot water so it might not be the best option if you plan to go camping during winter.
Also, the temperature at night is usually cold so it’s best to rent a sleeping bag or thick blanket from the visitor’s center.

This includes the Dong Son Tent Area, Chonlathan View, Persimmon Garden Tent Area, and Dean Sa Ngop Farm. The Persimmon Garden Tent Area, in particular, is a solid pick because it’s near the Thai Hmong Community Market.
This convenient ethnic market has food stalls, souvenir shops, and a gasoline station, so you’re covered for many travel essentials.
The park’s headquarters also has a restaurant and welfare shop where you can get Thai food, toiletries, and snacks.
Pro Tip:
Most of the campsites in Doi Inthanon National Park don’t offer rental tents and camping gear, so be sure to drop by the park’s headquarters to rent all the equipment you need.
Blankets in the sleeping bags are a must because of the park’s cold climate.

123 Glamp is a relaxing and scenic camping spot along the Ping River. It’s popular among couples, families, and friends because it offers duo and group camping packages along with sizable dome tents that can accommodate 2 to 8 people.
Bedding, pillows, cushions, and blankets are also included. Plus, they provide a tarp, outdoor tables, chairs, and basic cooking equipment along with a gas stove, charcoal stove, and metal plate grill which are great for cookouts.
They’ll also provide a designated washing area, drinking water filter, and 8 parking spaces. Other amenities include an artisan coffee shop, bathrooms, and shower rooms.
Pro Tip:
Foodstuffs aren’t included in their cooking provisions, so don’t forget to bring your own ingredients. Otherwise, you can book their special private salmon chef who’ll serve you 6 different dishes using 5 kilograms of salmon.

Mon Ing Dao Camping & Resort is a popular and picturesque camping spot in Chiang Mai. This place is in Mon Jam Village, so expect panoramic mountain views, vast flower fields, a stunning sea of mist, and numerous local coffee shops.
They offer two options for campers: standard camping tents and luxurious dome tents. Their standard tent has cushions, pillows, and blankets but you also get access to a communal bathroom, instant water heater, and outdoor BBQ stove.

Pro Tip:
The provided cushions, pillows, and blankets won’t be enough against the incredibly cold weather in Mon Jam Village so we recommend bringing winter clothing as well.

The Ob Khan National Park Campsite is an off-the-beaten camping destination 30 kilometers southwest of Chiang Mai City. It’s along the Mae Khan River, so expect a charming river view with numerous unique limestone and igneous rock formations.

Pro Tip:
This national park doesn’t have an entry fee so you only need to pay for the camping fee and equipment you rent at the headquarters.
Also, there’s no mobile reception so it might not be the best option for those who need internet access at all times.

Pro Tip:

Best of all, this is one of the cheapest places to go camping in Chiang Mai. For only 250 baht, you already get a tent with pillows, blankets, and sleeping pads.
Pro Tip:
They don’t sell food and drinks on-site so you must bring packed meals or fresh ingredients yourself. Campers are allowed to cook food next to their tents but you also need to bring your own cooking equipment.
