Trot, Gallop, and Shine with the Top 5 Schools for Horse Riding Lessons in Bangkok
Riding a horse had been sitting on our bucket list for ages, and one sunny weekend, my friend and I finally decided to make it happen. The only problem? We had no clue where to start in Bangkok, which is known for its tuk-tuks rather than stables!
But once we started looking, we were surprised to find some incredible schools offering horse riding lessons for all levels. With this, we got to meet some of the friendliest horses and trainers who made us feel right at home in the saddle.
So, for anyone ready to trade city chaos for a bit of horse-powered adventure, here’s our review of the top schools in Bangkok where you can trot, gallop, and shine—just like we did!

Charan 92 Horse Riding turned out to be one of the most memorable schools we visited in Bangkok.
The instructors here are incredibly skilled, and what stood out most was their courses—especially horseback archery, which combines precision and balance in such a thrilling way.
Every horseback riding lesson feels personal, and the trainers are patient enough to guide beginners while still challenging more advanced riders to improve. The space itself feels calm and unpretentious, with a warm, community-like atmosphere.
However, the training facilities could use a bit of refreshing since some areas looked worn out and could benefit from a good scrub or a fresh coat of paint. It doesn’t take away from the quality of the lessons, but it’s something you’ll likely notice when you arrive.
What we appreciated most was the variety of classes available, such as basic horse riding, dynamic archery, and equine-assisted therapy. You’ll feel both grounded and empowered after every session!
Kind and dedicated teachers
“We’ve been together for two years now. The teachers are kind and dedicated to teaching the petulant but very cute horses 😂 If you want to learn the art of archery on horseback, I guarantee that this place will definitely be fun 🙂 …”

Well-trained horse and quality instructors
“I came here and trained for a year, this place has turned me into a competent horse archer. Horses are well trained, quality instructors and great location.”

Chavelino Equestrian Center is one of those rare spots where everything feels thoughtfully put together, from calm, well-trained horses to the approachable and experienced instructors.
The staff are genuinely kind, and they take time to match each rider with the right horse based on your experience level. Whether you’re there for casual riding or aiming for competition-level training, the lessons are structured yet relaxed enough to make learning enjoyable.
The only thing that’s kind of disturbing during our visit was the stable area. While it’s spacious and well-maintained overall, the sanitation could use a bit of extra attention to minimise the occasional foul smell, especially during hot afternoons.
Aside from that, the school’s atmosphere is inviting, the horses look well-cared for, and the trainers are top-notch at explaining techniques. It’s a solid choice for anyone who truly wants to learn the art of horse riding in Bangkok.
Professional and skilled instructors with whom you can learn a lot
“For anyone looking for a horseback riding activity to practice concentration skills, I recommend Chavallino Riding School. Beginners are welcome, and we have professional and experienced instructors who will take care of you throughout the program. The horses are very easy to ride, and you’ll love them. The atmosphere in the stables is shady and cool. I highly recommend it! 💕🐴”

Phoenix Riding Academy is one of those spots you’d easily miss if you didn’t already know it existed—mainly because it doesn’t have a website.
That was the first thing we noticed when trying to find details online, which made booking and confirming lessons a bit more challenging than expected. However, once we visited in person, the experience more than made up for it.
The academy sits just outside Bangkok, near Bangna, and offers a refreshing escape from the city’s rush. The environment is peaceful, with plenty of trees and open space—perfect for both casual riders and those training seriously.
Moreover, we love how the coaches are professional and approachable. They were easy to talk to, making us feel at ease during the sessions.
Another plus is that they cater to all levels, from beginners to competition-ready riders, and most speak fluent English, which helps a lot if you’re not local.
Overall, it’s a well-rounded facility that blends structured learning with a welcoming community feel—once you get past the initial trouble finding it.
English-speaking staff and offer the best training facility
“Great facility for riding horses. Some of the staff speak English and they can accommodate all levels of rider experience. It’s worth a trip out to Bangna.”
– Brady Morrison, Google Review
Really fun to train here
“Great place for riders both professional and just-fun. For those train for equestrianship, this is the place to go in Bangkok. Professional team of coaches will help you improve or even prepare for competitions. They also provide fun riding experience lessons for young kids. Don’t speak Thai? Not to worry. Most of the coaches are fluent in English. The location is not far from MEGA Bangna.”

The Hay Equestrian Centre offers a charming and family-friendly escape from the city. From what we’ve seen during our visit, it’s a place where both kids and adults can genuinely enjoy their time around horses.
The property feels calm and well-kept, with a welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for first-timers or families on a weekend outing.
The horses are clearly in great condition, and the trainers are gentle, patient, and great at helping riders feel comfortable from the start.
However, what makes The Hay stand out is how it balances fun and learning—children can enjoy pony rides, while adults can take structured lessons at their own pace.
Plus, there’s also a lovely on-site restaurant that makes it easy to spend the whole afternoon here without rushing.
The only downside is the restrooms, which could be improved to match the otherwise excellent standard of the venue.
Lovely teachers and you can really learn here
“My niece Kirin came to learn horse riding for the first time. The teachers here are very lovely. They teach in an easy-to-understand way, step by step. My niece really likes it. Now I’ve bought a course. I’ll probably come often from now on. 😊💕 …”

Rodeo Horse Riding is a fun and lively spot that brings a real sense of adventure to Bangkok’s equestrian scene. The space itself is well-kept and surprisingly peaceful, given its proximity to the city.
The horses look healthy and full of energy, and the area feels open and breezy—perfect for beginners and casual riders. Booking lessons was easy, and communication with the staff was smooth in both Thai and English, which is great for locals and foreigners alike.
The lessons are structured yet relaxed, with instructors who explain techniques clearly and help you feel more confident in the saddle.
It’s also a fantastic place for kids! Many parents shared that their children loved learning here and quickly bonded with the horses.
The not-so-good part of our visit was that we noticed a few trainers paying more attention to skilled riders while being overly strict with beginners. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re new to horse riding.
It’s fun to learn here
“Teacher Jib has excellent speaking and teaching skills. My children are very happy learning to ride horses here. Every time passes happily. Importantly, Teacher Jib can also teach in English. Highly recommended if you want your children to learn to ride horses happily.”
