The 5 Best Kindergartens in Bangkok
How We Chose
Curriculum
First, we looked at the curriculum offered by each kindergarten to help you decide which one has the best teaching program suitable for your child’s personality.
Campus & Facilities
We also examined each campus, checking its facilities and grounds to see if the environment is suited for little ones.
Costs
To determine the value of each kindergarten, we based this on information on the tuition fees and other charges.
Range of Services
Finally, we checked for various services offered by the school, such as extra-curricular activities, language programs, and nutrition choices.

Pros
- Ideal educator-to-child ratio, 1:3
- Accessible and peaceful location
- Homey facilities
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- No available information on fees
Sprouts Kindergarten is a small school in a convenient location, which is only a couple of steps away from Lumpini Park. Its accessibility is a major plus since it’s accessible from Silom, Sathorn, or Rama 4 Roads, and also MRT Silom and BTS Sala Daeng.
Another thing we liked about Sprouts Kindergarten is its homey facility. The kindergarten is a house that was remodeled for educational purposes to create an ideal environment for play and exploration.
We also like that it has a small population of students. Since this kindergarten focuses on high-impact learning, it only has two groups, each with fifteen children between the ages of 1.5 to 5 years.
Furthermore, they use an immersive bilingual learning approach that allows children to learn English and Thai in their classes. We think this is a great idea because children’s brains are more receptive to learning a new language during their formative years.
It is only noteworthy that this kindergarten put much effort into creating a safe environment for children. They use lead-free wall paint, natural rubber flooring, noise-reducing ceiling design, and solid wood play structures in the outdoor space.
One drawback we found is that Sprouts Kindergarten did not specify which curriculum or teaching approach they use in the classes.
It was only mentioned that they follow the evidence-based programs found in modern German Kindergartens, which focus on individual holistic development.
Overall, we found this a great kindergarten for parents who want their kindergartners to learn in a cozy environment that focuses on play, exploration, participation, storytelling, art, and music under the close guidance of certified teachers.

Pros
- Beautiful and modern facilities
- Green environment
- EYFS-based curriculum
- Offers extra-curricular activities and specialist programs
Cons
- No information on fees
- Closed on weekends
Kensington International Kindergarten is a globally-recognized preschool in Bangkok. Located in the heart of Ratchaphruek Road, this school has a vibrant and peaceful environment that feels like a reprieve from the city.
An outstanding feature of this kindergarten is its facilities which feature a learner-centric ecosystem. Its building is a beautiful, modern free-form structure that allows for play-based learning.
Moreover, it has plenty of green spaces where children can play and explore safely. We also like the peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, which is a crucial factor in a child’s development.
The curriculum used at Kensington is based on the British National Curriculum. In its learning programs, it incorporates early childhood educational innovations on current Early Years research.
Additionally, this kindergarten offers extra-curricular activities through clubs such as Mandarin, cooking, phonics, drama, ballet, and adventure club. Specialist programs like Thai, swimming, and SENCO, are also offered.
Another thing we like about Kensington International Kindergarten is the provided meals for the children. We found that the menu is diverse, incorporating eastern and western flavors while ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and organic.
On the other hand, information on the tuition fees is not readily available, but its administrative staff provides quick responses via phone or email.

Pros
- Offers specialist programs
- EYFS-based curriculum
- Reggio Emilia-inspired teaching philosophy
- Beautiful facilities
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Expensive fees
Like Kensington International Kindergarten, Raintree International School uses a curriculum based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. However, Raintree employs the Reggio Emilia philosophy in its teaching approach.
We were drawn to the Reggio Emilia philosophy because it encourages children to learn through independent exploration, play, and inquiry. Combined with an EYFS-based curriculum, kindergartners at Raintree undergo holistic development.
Another thing we noticed about this combined approach is the collaboration between the teacher and students through adult-led and child-initiated activities.
In this school, children are given opportunities for balanced activities in art, music, creative play, drama, PE, Thai studies, and gardening.
Moreover, we think the outstanding facilities at Raintree International School deserve a mention. The building is sustainably-designed in an S-shape to achieve a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
We found this beautifully-designed building with natural light and ventilation a healthy learning environment for children. Furthermore, its natural tones and green spaces promote concentration and stimulation, encouraging a child’s sense of wonder.
The only drawback we found was the expensive tuition fees. Annual costs for Nursery 1 and 2 are approximately 433,000 Baht, while Kindergarten goes for 516,000 Baht.
Additional fees are also charged for specialist activities and after-school clubs. On the other hand, we found that the prepared meals are priced quite reasonably at 10,500 per term.

Pros
- Allergen-free environment
- Organic and gluten-free food
- EYFS-based curriculum
- Reggio Emilia-inspired teaching philosophy
Cons
- Closed on weekends
British Early Years Center is an international kindergarten and pre-school founded in 2011. It is a beautiful nature-inspired school located in Soi Ari, and it is well-known in both Thai and expat communities.
What we like most about this school is its primary focus on attaining a close to a one-on-one learning environment by over-staffing. The classes at British Early Years Center are maintained to have extremely undersized classes and small ability groupings.
Another noteworthy aspect of this school is its commitment to providing an allergen-free environment for the little ones. Its provided meals are organic, gluten-free, and devoid of all common allergens like milk, eggs, peanuts, soy, wheat, shellfish, and tree nuts, among others.
Furthermore, organic, paraben-free, and fragrance-free soaps are used in the school. We also like that these soaps are manufactured in-house to ensure a strict standard of non-toxic and gentle ingredients.
Like the Raintree International School in Sathorn, British Early Years Center uses a combination of an EYFS-based curriculum paired with a Reggio Emilia teaching approach. However, Raintree takes it further by also incorporating Waldorf, High Scope, and Finnish education models.
We like this combination of methods and approaches because they all consider nature and the use of natural materials as important elements in learning. Moreover, spending time outdoors is emphasized as well as using wooden resources.
Overall, we appreciate the oasis of greenery that the British Early Years Center creates in a city with very limited green space. This learning environment is definitely a plus!

Pros
- Central location
- Green campus
- EYFS-based curriculum
- Well-equipped playground
- Unique extracurricular activities
Cons
- Established in 2018
- Closed on weekends
- Slots easily run out
Next on our list is the Apple Tree International Kindergarten. One of its best qualities is its convenient location in the central business district in Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 26.
The warm and encouraging environment fostered by Apple Tree International Kindergarten is what drew us to them.
We appreciate that this school is purpose-built, with plenty of natural light, green spaces, and beautifully decorated classrooms. The safety and welfare of students are also prioritized through safety protocols and safe, non-toxic materials.
We also like that the large campus is designed so that the children are visible from every area. Furthermore, over half of the school is an outdoor space, which allows the students to have hands-on and authentic opportunities in learning through exploration.
Like several other kindergartens on this list, Apple Tree also offers the British Early Years Foundation (EYFS) curriculum. Notably, the Head of School in this center is an EYFS educator and administrator with vast experience teaching in London and Bangkok.
Another unique thing we like about Apple Tree is that it offers music, dance, and yoga as extra-curricular activities for kids. The playground is also well-equipped for water, sand, and mud kitchen play.
On the other hand, nursery and kindergarten classes can quickly get fully booked. We recommend that interested applicants contact the school as early as possible to ensure slots during enrollment.
