The 4 Clinics with the Best Osteopaths in Bangkok

The 4 Clinics with the Best Osteopaths in Bangkok

How We Picked the Best Osteopaths in Bangkok

Treatments

Osteopathy isn’t a standard solution to all health issues. We chose clinics that offer specialized treatments to ensure personalized care.

Expertise

We checked the training background and affiliations of the osteopaths in each clinic. Moreover, we considered their experiences to ensure reliability and flexibility in their techniques.

Facilities

Since osteopathic treatments are usually done in several sessions, we also examined the premises and accessibility of each facility that will contribute to an efficient and comfortable treatment.

Patient Satisfaction

We based this on our surveys and experiences. Furthermore, we combed through relevant reviews from third-party sources on the web.

Pros

  • Has two osteopaths in the clinic
  • Modern and well-designed facility
  • Ample parking space
  • An eight-minute walk from BTS Ari station
  • Accepts cash, credit card, and online payments

Cons

  • Limited operating hours

Osteopath Centre stands out on this list as the only osteopathy clinic in Bangkok. Since its establishment in 2008, it has provided holistic treatments to various conditions, such as sports injuries, chronic pain, trapped nerves, arthritic pain, back pain, and more.

What we like most about Osteopath Centre is its husband-and-wife team, Dr. Philip Hambly and Dr. Nancy Singharuksa. We were impressed to learn that they are both osteopaths who trained at the British School of Osteopathy in London.

It is notable that Dr. Philip has gained vast experience treating a wide range of cases involving pain, nerves, and spinal alignment. Before relocating to Bangkok, he helmed a multi-disciplinary clinic in Darlington, Country Durham.

On the other hand, Dr. Nancy practiced in Newcastle and North Yorkshire for several years, specializing in providing osteopathic care to infants. Since she is fluent in English and Thai, we noted that locals and foreigners found it easy to communicate with her during treatments.

What we like most about them is their professional and caring bedside manner. Since osteopathy requires a lot of hands-on treatments and techniques, Dr. Philip and Dr. Nancy are careful and thorough in explaining each procedure.

Furthermore, most patients we talked to were satisfied with their osteopathy appointments. Many noticed feeling pain relief, even after a single treatment.

We also appreciate that the facilities at Osteopath Center are modern and well-designed. In its location at Ratchakru Medical Center, the clinic is easily accessible via an eight-minute walk from the BTS Ari station.

Do note that the clinic is only open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, which we found rather limited.

Although they accept walk-ins, we still recommend reserving a slot in advance through the convenient online booking option on the website. Patients can schedule appointments and pay for their sessions through bank transfers or credit card payments in a couple of clicks.

On the other hand, we found several customers complaining about the treatment costs at the Osteopathy Center since the consultation costs 1,000 Baht and the initial appointment is priced at 2,900 Baht.

However, follow-ups cost only 1,900 Baht, and we found it reasonable enough given the expertise of the osteopaths in the Osteopath Center.

If you are not opposed to taking a one-hour flight or an eight-hour drive from Bangkok to find a reliable osteopath, check out Chiang Mai Osteopath. This place is frequented for pain-relief and sports-related injuries by locals and expats living near Talat Khwan, Doi Saket.

Helmed by Dr. Marco Bini, an Italian osteopath, anthropologist, and expert on Thai herbal medicine, Chiang Mai Osteopath provides care for patients with various conditions.

We were also intrigued by how all of Dr. Marco’s healing modalities can create a holistic healing experience. Aside from being an experienced osteopath, he is a Reiki healer, Kinesiologist, and Tibetan Acupressure Practitioner.

Although he has a vast skill set, we were glad that Dr. Marco is an excellent osteopath. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Universitas Sedes Sapientes in San Diego in 2001 and has treated thousands of Thai and international patients.

Notably, Dr. Marco specializes in treating injuries related to tennis and golf. Many patients also come to him for back pain and posture-related issues.

Many patients reported pain relief and an improvement in their symptoms after their treatments. However, communication was a challenge for many because Dr. Marco speaks English with a heavy Italian accent.

We also commend Dr. Marco for providing free osteopathic services to monks and locals in Chiang Mai. Because of this act of community service that showed his dedication and professionalism, he was recognized by the Saraphi Hospital.

On the downside, it is difficult to contact Dr. Marco because of his scarce online presence. Additionally, consultations and treatments are strictly by appointment, so we recommend calling beforehand to secure a schedule.

Pros

  • Reasonable treatments costs
  • Open daily
  • Offers various services in the clinic

Cons

  • Three hours from Central Bangkok

Spine Clinic is one of the most sought-after osteopathy clinics in Hua Hin. Although not in Bangkok, it is only three hours away by private transport.

Although it was only established in 2019 by Dr. Henrik Fagersson, Spine Clinic quickly gained popularity, especially in the HiSo Thai circle. The practice quickly grew through word-of-mouth due to its good track record.

Notably, Dr. Henrik Fagersson completed his osteopathy studies and training at the Skandinaviska Osteopathögskolan and the University of Wales. We noticed from our surveys that his specialty is treating lower back, knee, hip, ischia, and headache issues.

Another thing that we liked about Spine Clinic is its relaxing and modern facilities. Located at the Lotuswell Resort, the clinic offers a calming vibe that makes patients feel more at ease.

Furthermore, the staff and practitioners at Spine Clinic are all known to be accommodating, professional, and thorough. We also appreciate the fast response of its staff to all inquiries.

Spine Clinic also has practitioners that do chiropractic adjustments, physiotherapy, and medical-massage treatments. Its osteopathy fees are also reasonable, which costs 2,200 Baht per treatment.

Another plus for us is the daily operating hours of this clinic. Compared to the other osteopaths on this list, Spine Clinic is open daily, making it accessible for those with tight schedules.

On the downside, it takes almost three hours to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin. Transit options are also unavailable, so we recommend hiring private transport or renting a car if you’re coming from the capital.

4. Chiang Mai Osteopathy

Cons

  • Three-hour drive from Central Bangkok

Chiang Mai Osteopathy is another popular osteopathy clinic in Northern Thailand. Run by Dr. Ben Thompson, a UK-trained osteopathic physician who graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

An outstanding thing about Chiang Mai Osteopathy is the numerous praises we encountered from patients who were happy with Dr. Ben. Aside from being an excellent osteopath, he is commendable in having a professional yet friendly approach.

Furthermore, we like that Dr. Ben is skilled in providing a quick and correct diagnosis and executes efficient adjustments through osseous manipulation. We noticed that many patients even fly into Chiang Mai for consultations and treatments with him.

Another thing that we appreciate about Chiang Mai Osteopathy is its affordable treatment costs. A 45-minute session with Dr. Ben only costs 1,000 Baht, far lower than the standard rates for osteopathic treatments.

Additionally, the staff at Chiang Mai Osteopathy is quick to respond to inquiries both online and through calls.

Although its facilities are not modern, we appreciate its location amid nature. Many patients appreciate this aspect because the greenery and surroundings help the osteopathic treatments be more relaxing.

On the downside, it’s either an eight-hour drive or an hour of flying to get to Chiang Mai from Bangkok, which is not exactly cost-effective. Nonetheless, those living in Northern Thailand can easily access the clinic through private transport.
