Pros
- Therapy services in Italian and English
- Great personality
- Offers online therapy
Cons
- He only uses CBT as the main method of therapy
- Sole practitioner in the clinic
- Closed on Sundays
Mind Matters is a practice run by Dr. Simone Negrini, an Italian-native therapist living in Bangkok. He started providing psychotherapy services in 2018.
Although Dr. Simone’s practice in Bangkok is quite new, he is currently rising in popularity as a compassionate therapist, especially for foreigners living there. Based on feedback from our surveys, he is attentive, empathetic, and knowledgeable.
Furthermore, many of his patients commented on how comfortable they felt during their sessions with him. We like that he is non-judgmental, making it easy for patients to open up about any issue.
Dr. Simone’s primary treatment method is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on talk therapy. While it is very effective for most patients in treating their mental health issues, a large part of it involves self-discipline on the patient’s side.
Additionally, CBT generally needs fewer sessions since it allows patients to quickly identify and cope with their unique challenges. We like this form of therapy because it means fewer sessions and more savings, given that the patient can commit to the discipline needed for it to work.
On the other hand, CBT is the only method used by Dr. Simone. Moreover, his clinic is self-run with no other therapists, making it difficult to book a session if there are a number of patients in need.
We think that this is a minor hurdle because Dr. Simone is a therapist worth waiting for. With his impeccable and kindly manner, which provides a calm and nurturing atmosphere, patients can easily reach their goals through his help.

We think that there are so many things to like about Counselling Thailand. First, they have a wide range of services suitable for people of all ages dealing with any mental health and behavioral issues.
Furthermore, we like that this practice has many forms of counseling available. They have alternative rehab programs and group programs for alcoholics, art therapy for kids and adolescents, and even hypnotherapy for all their patients.
Next, Counselling Thailand has many psychologists and counselors on board. One exemplary member of the team is Ms. Yee Pui Kuan, Jun, who is a counselor and psychotherapist with broad expertise in working with individuals, couples, tennis, and adolescents.

As a foreigner living in Bangkok for more than 15 years, Dr. Scott understands the challenges that expats face, and this is where his passion lies. To help out his fellow English-speaking expats living in Bangkok, he set up a practice to help those who feel alienated and lonely.
Additionally, we like that Scott Berry & Associates offers a free emotional support group for English-speaking expats, making it a great opportunity for them to connect. However, this is a closed group so a referral from one of their counselors through a free consultation is needed.
While their service feels quite limited due to their niche, Dr. Scott has an excellent reputation as a therapist in the expat community. The psychotherapy services he offers are well-acclaimed and appreciated by many of his patients.
Moreover, we noticed that he has many loyal patients who continuously relied on him for coaching and therapy in the past decade. We like his approach and his warm, friendly, and supportive attitude towards his patients.
If you are an English-speaking expat living in Bangkok or across Asia seeking therapy, Dr. Scott Berry might be for you. His insightful and professional approach is beneficial to his patients, whether online or in person.

Mr. Don Knox established Bangkok Counselling Service in 2008 when he noticed the lack of accessible therapeutic services in the country.
We applaud his efforts in establishing his practice, which became the first counseling and psychotherapy practice in Thailand registered with the Ministry of Labour.
We like that Mr. Don has the expertise in working with a wide variety of problems like drug, alcohol, and sexual addictions. Additionally, he is an experienced couple’s therapist and has a strong background in youth work where he counseled adolescents and teens with complex issues.
Focusing on his modes of therapy, we are glad to see that Mr. Don developed his psychotherapy and counseling style from the Humanistic approach. Through Client-Centered and Gestalt Therapies, his clients become more self-aware and accepting of their issues.
Another thing we noticed is that the common feedback from his patients is that they felt supported by Mr. Don during their therapy with him. They felt safe enough to explore their current feelings and emotions in the secure environment in his practice.
