Pros

  • Best independent self-storage in Thailand 2022 (SSAA)
  • First in Bangkok with 18 years of experience
  • Range of storage options and sizes
  • Good security

Cons

  • Not freely accessible after 5PM

Bangkok Self Storage claims to be the first in the business in Bangkok, having been established in 2004. Their goal is to offer flexible, affordable, and secure storage solutions in central Bangkok.

They recently won Best Independent Self Storage in Thailand and Best Manager in Self Storage 2022 by the Self Storage Association Asia. We feel like these awards can reassure interested customers about their service quality.

They offer three storage options: storage for businesses, for travelers, and personal storage. They have everything from 1.5m lockers to 45m mini warehouses for these services.

We definitely approve of the range because it shows they have solutions for all kinds of people, whether you’re a business or someone on extended holiday.

All of their units can be freely accessed seven days a week and they can even be contacted if you need access after-hours. We love this option because it really shows how flexible they are in adapting to your needs.

However, we should note that our survey respondents have cited occasions when they had to retrieve urgent items after hours and could not access them. Although you can call in advance for this arrangement, if it’s an unexpected emergency there’s little you can do.

Their units are tough steel units designed to keep out bugs, humidity, and heat. They are also under 24/7 CCTV and onsite guard surveillance, with after-hours codes in addition to your own padlock.

We feel like this makes it quite safe and there have been no issues with security according to our respondents. Most of their clients are also quite happy with their reasonable prices, which you can get a free quote for on their website.

Pros

  • Choice of paying from weekly to yearly
  • 24/7 access to your unit
  • Logistics services
  • Coworking space

Cons

  • More expensive short-term storage

REDD Premium Self-Storage offers seven different sizes from 0.45sqm units to a 21sqm garage. We like this range of options because that means they have solutions for whatever storage needs you may have.

Another thing we like is their range of payment options. Although they can be considered a little pricey, you have the choice to pay weekly, monthly, half-yearly, or yearly.

We think this is great for people looking for long-term storage solutions, because you can save on a lot by paying half-yearly or yearly. There’s a huge difference in daily prices.

To illustrate, their smallest unit costs THB380 weekly, which is THB54 daily. Meanwhile, if you choose to pay yearly it costs THB4860, making it only THB13.50 per day.

All of these units are secured with 24/7 CCTV surveillance and live monitoring. We particularly like the feature that notifies you every time your unit is opened.

You can also access your unit 24/7 with your very own PIN code for the electronic gate. If you feel safer knowing you can come and go anytime for emergencies, we definitely recommend REDD premium storage for you.

The facility is also designed for your comfort. They have WiFi, printing services, meeting rooms, coffee, and drive-in facilities for all your needs.

We also love that they have logistics services in case you need assistance in moving your luggage or other storage items into the facility.

Pros

  • Door to door storage services
  • Box storage services
  • Temperature- and humidity-regulated wine storage
  • 24/7 access

Cons

  • Dust build-up is common

i-Store Self Storage now has three locations in Bangkok at the time of writing: two at Sukhumvit and one at Silom. You will be given an access card so that you can get to your belongings at any time of day or night.

They have various storage unit sizes, from 0.5sqm to their premium storage unit which is 18sqm. We particularly like that they offer box storage, which means you can still store a few smaller items without having to pay for a large room.

They also have door to door storage services, where they send a team to survey your items to be stored. Once you’re happy with the size they recommend for you, they pack, deliver, and store the items for you.

We should note that this requires you to trust their team with your items, and there have been no complaints of anything going missing or getting damaged.

They also have iStoreGo box storage services, which is another door to door service for smaller items. We find these services to be really convenient for people with tight schedules.

Another service they provide is wine storage. They offer a temperature and humidity-regulated wine cellar so your wine maintains its flavor even in a tropical country like Bangkok.

We think this is a unique service that makes a lot of sense. If you’re a wine lover in Thailand, we definitely recommend you look into these wine cellar storage services.

Their facilities are equipped with CCTVs and smoke detectors to ensure that your belongings are safe. However, we have noted from our surveys that some people have noted a lot of dust build-up over time because a small portion of the units are open.

4. Siam Self Storage

Pros

  • Affordable prices compared to other facilities in Bangkok
  • 24/7 access
  • Moving and packing services

Cons

  • Confusing information on website
  • Not as expansive a range of services as others on this list

Siam Self Storage operates in two locations: Sukhumvit 103 and Rakhamhaeng soi 15. They have a branch in Thomson Hotel Huamark, which we think may be convenient for travelers.

They offer packing and moving services should you need assistance, which we like. We find this especially helpful for people living in Thailand alone or people with really busy schedules.

Their units are fitted with alarms and can only be accessed with your digital PIN code. The steel-structured facility is also under 24/7 video surveillance, so you can feel safe about your belongings.

We also like that this means your unit is accessible to you 24/7. This is really important in case of emergencies where you urgently need to get something from your unit.

They offer units from 1sqm to 38.4sqm, so you have flexible leasing options depending on the size you need. Their smallest unit will cost you around THB700 for a month, which we consider quite a reasonable price!

One thing we don’t like is that their website can be a little confusing, with contradicting statements. For example, one page says the largest size is 38.4sqm, but another says it’s 60sqm.

There’s also a page that tells you to choose a unit size from the list below, but there is no list below. While this may be a small thing to a lot of people, we’d definitely like it better if the website were clearer and easier to navigate.

Pros

  • Six locations
  • Air-conditioned facilities
  • Two-layer access safe deposit boxes
  • Wine cellar
  • 24/7 access

Cons

  • Starting rates are more expensive than other options on this list

JWD Store it! has a total of six different locations in Bangkok alone. We’ve included their Siam and Rama 9 locations, but addresses for the other branches are on their website.

We like that there are a lot of branches because this means there’s a higher chance of there being a location close to and convenient for you.

They have seven different sizes available for their storage units, from XXS to XXL. The smallest size is 0.5 to 1.4sqm of storage space, and will cost at least THB1000.

We do think the starting rates are higher than a lot of other options in the city. If you’re on a tighter budget, we recommend you check out the other options on this list.

They also have safe deposit boxes with reinforced concrete walls and fireproof doors. What we find most impressive however are the security measures which include two-layer access with biometric fingerprints and face scanning.

This is on top of the usual 24/7 CCTV surveillance. We think these safe deposit boxes can guarantee the security of your documents or belongings.

Another thing we love about JWD is that their facility is air-conditioned. This means your items will be in a temperature-controlled environment, which can be very important for certain items and documents.

We should also note that JWD has also recently added a wine cellar option so that you can store your wines in a quality-controlled setting. If you’re a wine lover in hot and humid Bangkok, we recommend checking them out!

Pros

  • Provides self-storage, wine storage, and door-to-door
  • Accessible location
  • 24/7 access
  • Climate-controlled storage
  • Exceptional customer service

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

GO Storage is a storage company that hopes to create a modern living style, one in which everyone can enjoy an affordable space-free environment.

We think they’re one of the best options for modern storage solutions that you can easily access to manage your belongings from anywhere and whenever you want to.

They provide self-storage, wine storage, and door-to-door services.

Their storage solutions include a luggage storage, small units, and large units depending on your needs.

We like how convenient and accessible their location is. They’re next to BTS Phra Khanong so it’s pretty easy to get to.

You get a personal lock pad, access 24/7, and a secured passcode access. We also like how there’s 24 hours CCTV and security for more safety.

The storage is climate-controlled so you wouldn’t have to worry about your belongings being damaged due to temperature.

Their customer service is exceptional and they go out of their way for their customers, especially when they run into minor issues. We highly recommend!
