5 Stores in Bangkok Where You’ll Find the Best Thai Silk
There are tons of things you can bring home from Thailand to remember your trip, but one souvenir you MUST get is authentic Thai silk. It’s the country’s most sought-after local craft and it’s not hard to see why once you see its intricate patterns and vibrant hues.
The problem is that countless stores offer them nationwide, or even in Bangkok alone! This makes it hard for shoppers to find the ones that offer the best and most authentic Thai silk in the country, which is where we come in!
Join us here as we break down the best Thai silk stores in Bangkok and what makes them worth checking out. Let’s get started!
1. Queen Thai Silk

Queen Thai Silk is one of the easiest spots to get Thai silk products because it’s located in the heart of Bangkok. It also has a nice location inside the Trendy Plaza where shoppers can also find bars and restaurants.
One thing we immediately noticed about them is that they do a great job of maintaining their store and showcasing their products. As soon as you enter their doors, you’ll immediately be greeted by rows of neatly arranged colourful Thai silks.
Aside from variety, the quality of their silk is superb as well, featuring super smooth weaves and beautiful patterns.
We were further impressed when we discovered that they do custom tailoring for their Thai silk so shoppers can turn them into different types of clothing. Plus, the turnaround time for custom pieces is impressively fast!
On the downside, they’re closed on Sundays, so you’ll have to consider this if you’re on a tight schedule. They also have a hefty price point, but we do think that you’ll be getting the best value for your money.
Amazing work!
“I went in because I was in need of a suit for work. I had a jacket, skirt, and pants all custom-made and fit perfectly to my body within 5 days! I highly recommend Queen Thai Silk, they do amazing work!!!”

Beautiful and modern
“Queen Thai Silk was recommended to me by Raja’s Fashions, a terrific tailor for men. I had a blazer, pants and silk shirt designed and tailored here over 5 days and they fit beautifully and look modern.
I had many special requests about the fit and they were very attentive at the initial consultation and both fittings. However, some custom details such as the blazer lining were not asked about at the initial consultation and I could not customize these details later.
Communicate over the phone or in person and you’ll get a faster response- tricky to email! I think if you know exactly what you want and can show pictures or bring examples you will do very well at Queen Thai Silk!”

Narai Phand is widely known because of its wide selection of traditional arts and crafts. Here, you will find premium quality Thai silk and other products such as cotton, silverware, brass, pottery and more.
The main highlight here, however, is their Thai silk, as they can come in different forms such as clothing, bags, tablecloths and more. What’s more impressive is that these products feature striking patterns and colour combinations.
With that being said, you won’t find two of the same products here—in fact, you’ll find Thai silk patterns here that you won’t see in other stores!
The last thing we wanted to highlight about this store is that they ethically source their products from local villagers, giving them their well-deserved flowers!
The only thing we’re not fond of is the price point on these items, as it seems like they’re catering more towards tourists, hence their inflated tags. They’re not the type of store where you can haggle too—they have wholesale prices, though!
You’re paying for quality
“The crafts/products are exquisite. Though others might say the price is a little higher than other places, you’re paying for quality assurance.
If I lived there permanently, I would invest in different styles and colours of their exquisite products. The manager is very knowledgeable”

Really great service
“This place has really great service, If you are trying to look for porcelain and tableware, this is the place to go. However, if you want Thai silk their selection is limited. Their prices are cheaper than what is offered by the vendors at Siam Square and come with a warranty.”

Jim Thompson is arguably the biggest name in the Thai silk industry mainly because of its awe-inspiring origins. It’s so famous that it transcended into the main fashion scene, which is why you’ll find various Thai silk-inspired clothes, bags and accessories inside.
Outside of fashion, you’ll also find house decors made out of this beautiful woven texture. This type of variety makes shopping here all the more fun and satisfying—plus, you’ll have multiple floors to explore in this high-end store.
Fortunately, shoppers won’t have to worry about exploring these floors on their own, as their expert staff are widely praised for their knowledge and assistance. We’re always impressed by how they can recommend an item just by having conversations with customers.
Also, the store itself is a spectacle to admire and is one of the most iconic attractions in Bangkok, so it’s well worth the visit.
Of course, a premium quality such as this would mean that you have to pay a pretty penny, but if you have the budget, this is one of the best stores in the city to splurge on.
Always enjoy shopping at Jim Thompson
“Elegant place with artistic fare. If you have a generous budget and a penchant for finer things, this is your go-to in Bangkok.
I always enjoy my shopping at Jim Thompson. I love their longer scarves (wish they have more of them) that go with my Indian wear and make my attire stand out!”

Always a great visit
“Always a great visit each time we go to this store location. Do not forget to look at the higher floors 3, 4 & 5 where the fabric and room styling is displayed. They have some more modern silk fabric designs which is great to see. It is a good contrast to the traditional ones.”

From Siam with Love is a hidden gem that’s starting to gain a following because of their amazing customer service.
One of their past clients gave them their flowers online because of how helpful the people in the store were in altering a specific blouse. What’s more impressive about this is that the staff member offered this service for free and insisted on delivering the item to the customer’s hotel!
The store’s steady growth can also be attributed to the quality of its products, whether it be their scars, pants and other pieces of clothing. Each of these products is soft to the touch and features cool colours and patterns.
However, we wish the store could extend their operating hours, as they’re only open 3 days a week at the time of writing. Also, their selection of products isn’t as varied compared to the other Thai silk stores in the city, which could affect some customers’ shopping experience.
Quality is very good
“I bought a sleeveless blouse from this shop at the end of last year and it became my favourite one this summer season. The quality, such as the sawing, the materials, and the buttons, is very good.
When I tried it on, I found that the armhole was a little too big for me. The shop assistant, possibly Ms Yin, offered to fix it for free and delivered it to the hotel I was staying at before I left Bangkok.
There were only a few days left, but she made it. Luckily, the hotel was not too far from the shop. I made a good purchase.”

We love it
“My mum and I have been coming here for years and we love it. The owner designs the clothes and works the shop- everything is beautifully made, in gorgeous natural fabrics. Easily wearable for Westerners but with a Thai twist.
Yin has the amazing skill of just slightly changing something subtle about an outfit and perfecting it. Highly worth a visit. Check the opening times before you trek there!”

When it comes to affordability, China World Fabric Outlet is king because you’ll find amazing Thai silk fabrics at wholesale prices here. It’s not just a single store as well but instead, an entire mall consisting of countless shops that sell their selections of fabrics.
The real challenge here is finding Thai silk, as not every store carries this traditional textile. If you’re someone who’s up for a challenge, however, finding Thai silk in the sea of fabrics across several floors here will feel super satisfying.
Our main grip with shopping here is that the people behind some stalls can be rude or downright too aggressive when selling their products.
Furthermore, you can’t go here expecting to find products that are made out of Thai silk. Instead, you can grab these textures at wholesale price and take them to the tailor afterwards to create your suit, scarf, etc.
Three floors of fabric shops
“My favourite fabric shopping destination in Bangkok. Air-conditioned, three floors of fabric shops – a good place to escape the heat for a few hours. Huge selection of dressmaking fabrics, casual and formal, all at great prices.
High-quality plain fabrics and a huge selection of printed fabric too. Most shops have some good deals like 3 yards for 100 baht.
There are also some bridal/formalwear shops here. The food court upstairs doesn’t seem that exciting but it’s a good place to sit down for a rest. Clean bathrooms (but you need to grab the paper from the dispenser near the bathroom entrance).”

So much to choose from
“FABRIC AND TEXTILES HEAVEN.
There is so much to choose from and several floors. the selection is insane it goes from regular everyday textiles to wedding fabrics and the prices are great too if you really can find anything the whole area around China World has MULTIPLE other shops that sell fabrics.
Don’t be afraid to go into the stores and move/look for things that could be hiding behind other rolls of fabrics just make sure you put it back”
