Best Time to Visit Chachoengsao

The best time to visit Chachoengsao is from November to February. These months are optimal for sightseeing and exploration since the province enjoys pleasant weather conditions with bright sunny skies and hardly any rainfall. 

Moreover, the temperature is also lower than at any time in the dry season so you can travel around the province all day.

How to Get to Chachoengsao

Bus: Buses depart for Chachoengsao from Bangkok’s Ekkamai Bus Terminal and Suvarnabhumi Airport. This option is fast and cheap, and the trip to Chachoengsao’s town center only takes approximately 1 hour.

If you’re on the northern side of Bangkok, you can also find buses to Chanchoengsao at the Northern Bus Terminal )Mochit Bus Terminal).

Train: Catch a train at the Hua Lamphong Train Station in Bangkok to get to reach Chachoengsao’s Paet Riu Train Station. Just know that it usually takes 2 hours, so this isn’t the fastest option.

Taxi: Hiring a taxi in Bangkok is another alternative way to get to Chachoengsao. This is also a fast option since the taxi ride to Chachoengsao’s town center only takes approximately 1 hour. 

Though this is more expensive than riding a bus, it’s convenient since you can hail a taxi anywhere in Bangkok.

Rental Car: If you have a driver’s license and an International Driving Permit, you can also drive a rental car to Chachoengsao. This is the most flexible option since you can customize your route and make as many stops during the trip.

The fastest route from Bangkok is via Highway 7, Highway 3001, and Highway 314. If you prefer a straightforward drive, you can also take Highway 304 in Bangkok’s Khan Na Yao District.

This highway will take you directly to Chachoengsao’s town center.

Bang Pakong Boat Club is a charming riverside establishment that offers boating services and accommodations. It has airy minimalist rooms with excellent river views and numerous bed options for couples and families vacationing.

This club also has an outdoor pool with pool toys which is popular among families with small kids. There’s also a watersports center so you can do kayaking, paddle boarding, jet skiing, fishing, and sailing. 

The downside? You won’t find shops, restaurants, and bars near this place.

The Brown House Hotel is an excellent riverside hotel on the eastern side of Chachoengsao Town. It’s well-known for its charming minimalist rooms with distinct wood and brick motifs.

The hotel also offers a nice view of the Bang Pakong River and quick access to the Banmai Market—the place to be for local specialties, handicrafts, and souvenir items.

The caffeine addicts on our team were particularly fond of the hotel’s small artsy cafe. It even has a relaxing terrace dining area with wooden swing chairs and plenty of colorful potted plants.

Baan Melon is a great option for tourists with a serious sweet tooth. This cafe in Chachoengsao is famous for its vibrant rustic interior and exquisite selection of Western cuisines and Korean desserts.

Their best seller is their melon bingsu. It’s a cold, milky, and creamy dessert topped with sweet melon cheese puffs and fresh melon chunks, which we think is definitely worth getting, especially on hot days.

Aside from that, they serve excellent flatbreads, pasta, and fried rice dishes.

Wat Saman Rattanaram is a famous temple in Chachoengsao that feels more like a theme park. It’s popular among locals and tourists because it’s packed with colorful giant statues of Hindu deities and popular fictional characters.

The most popular sight in the temple is Lord Ganesh’s vibrant pink reclining image.

Beside it is a small bandicoot rat statue where you can whisper your prayers to Lord Ganesh.

Lord Ganesh is said to be a remover of obstacles, so people come to him to pray about their troubles and for good luck. 

Admire Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan’s elegant architecture

Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan is a massive and prestigious riverside temple, so it’s definitely worth visiting because it’s an important temple in Chachoengsao! 

It’s famous for its gilded ivory-white architecture which makes it one of the most picturesque temples in the province. Its large wihan also has a distinct architectural style which gives it a chedi-like appearance. 

Expect to see crowds of locals visiting it daily to pay their respects. In fact, the number of its annual visitors is second only to the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok.

Drop by Khlong Khuean Shri Ganesh International Park

Khlong Khuean Shri Ganesh International Park has the largest statue of the Lord Ganesh, which is why it’s popular among worshippers who frequent Chachoengsao.

At the foot of the statue, you’ll find a golden brass cauldron where visitors light incense sticks and offer flowers. Aside from the giant standing statue, there’s also a temple housing a few smaller images of Lord Ganesh.

They also have images of other Hindu deities, so there’s plenty to see while you’re here.

For vacationing families, Mini Murrah Farm is a must-visit if you want to spend the day doing numerous fun activities. Here, you can observe and feed the various farm animals like rabbits, buffalos, pigs, ducks, goats, and koi fish.

Aside from that, they have workshops for kids. Think pizza baking, soap making, egg collecting, rice cultivation, earthworm farming, and more.

They also have fun activities like mudslides and tractor-train rides. There’s no admission fee, so you’ll have to pay for each activity instead.

If you’re looking for a place to relax, there’s Suan Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park. This is a public park, so it’s perfect for family picnics and sightseeing.

Here, you’ll find a landscaped garden, a kiddie playground, and a charming lake where you can feed fish. There are also plenty of ducks and pigeons within the park—perfect for animal lovers!

Most people come here in the morning and afternoon because it’s ideal for jogging and exercising. So if you want to have some serious me-time,  avoid these peak hours.
