The best time to visit Koh Yao Noi depends on your goals on your trip. This beautiful island in southern Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with mild temperatures all year round, so it has plenty of activities for all seasons.
Nonetheless, there are some seasonal variations that could impact your travel experience. As with all travel destinations, Koh Yao Noi has a high season and a low season.
Koh Yao Noi’s high season extends from November to April, which is also the dry season. The weather is often bright and mild throughout this time, with little humidity and calm seas.
This makes it the ideal season for outdoor pursuits like swimming, snorkelling, and hiking. The drawback is that this is also the busiest time, when there are more visitors and greater costs for lodging and entertainment.

Koh Yao Noi Travel Tips
From what I experienced in my visit to Koh Yao Noi, here are some tips to keep in mind so you’ll have a great time:
If you’re travelling during peak season, it’s a good idea to book your flights and ferry tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
If you have time, you can also take an overnight train or bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani, which is another gateway to the islands in southern Thailand.
From Surat Thani, you can take a bus or taxi to Krabi or Phuket, and then catch the ferry to Koh Yao Noi.
The last ferry from Phuket or Krabi to Koh Yao Noi usually departs in the late afternoon, so plan your travel accordingly to avoid getting stranded on the mainland or having to stay overnight.
To get good deals on your Koh Yao Noi travel, it’s best to book your flights and accommodations in advance, and avoid travelling during peak season which is between November and April.
Consider staying in a villa or bungalow instead of a hotel, as they can often offer more affordable rates while providing a unique and authentic travel experience.
You can also look for promotions and discounts offered by local tour operators and activity providers, or by booking through online travel agencies that offer package deals.
