The 5 Best Stores for Kitchen Cabinets in Bangkok

The 5 Best Stores for Kitchen Cabinets in Bangkok

How We Chose the Best Stores for Kitchen Cabinets

Variety of Options

We love to find a furniture store with various kitchen cabinet design options for a more educated and curated choice.

Product Quality

Kitchen cabinets usually carry plates, pans, and heavy cooking equipment, and they’re not cheap either, so these must be sturdy enough to last years.

Price

We always hope that the stores we find have reasonable pricing for the products for sale.

Customer Service

A store with knowledgeable staff and excellent after-sales service is 100% great in our book.

Delivery and/or Installation

Delivering huge items like cabinets to a customer’s home is a given, but if installation is in the package, that’s excellent service!

Pros

  • Well-known brand

Cons

  • Slow service
  • Not-so-good after-sales

HomePro is Thailand’s equivalent to US hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s, so there are many products for home improvement and construction products available here.

It started in 1996, got publicly listed in 2001, and is still standing strong more than 20 years later.

What we liked the best about HomePro Rama 3 branch is its early opening time of 8:30 AM. Any builder or DIYer can start their workday early by buying necessary supplies.

The store premises itself is very spacious and organised; we could walk and take our time shopping here for hours. There are also restaurants in the same building to visit after a long day of hardware shopping.

This Home Pro in Bang Kho Laem district offers more than 35 models of wall-mounted and self-standing kitchen and home cabinets, so you’ll have plenty of choices.

Prices start below THB 1000 and can go upwards of THB 7000 (which is already a good deal for us).

The store can offer same-day delivery and even free assembly (depending on the model), which is a big help for those who are not that good with tools.

There’s always a sales person available to help, following customers diligently to a fault. During our visit, the sales staff was friendly enough, but some customers noted less enthusiasm than other HomePro branches they’ve been to.

However, other aspects of its customer service are quite a hit or miss.

Getting out new stock and payment takes very long. If you need a replacement item, prepare to send many messages or make many calls to the store for your request.

Pros

  • Kitchen cabinets for small spaces
  • Customers can shop in peace
  • Delivery and assembly service

Cons

  • Pricier than competitors
  • In-store shopping more expensive than online

Kitchen accessories and furniture isn’t Index Living Mall’s strongest suit. Still, we couldn’t let this store slip from our list because of the unique kitchen furniture it offers.

Suppose you’re looking for kitchen cabinets for tiny spaces like a condominium unit; Index Living Mall has a small selection of minimalist yet stylish furniture.

Since these are already in sets, prices are above THB 10,000 — pricier compared to other budget furniture stores.

The quality and marksmanship of furniture here are comparable to big brands, so that’s a plus in our book.

If you want a more personalised approach, Index Living offers a “Design & Build” service to build your home’s interior from scratch.

Aside from these cabinets, we like that Index Living mall staff gives customers enough space and privacy.

We didn’t feel annoyed or pressured to buy during our visit, which is good for a store like this. However, some customers might feel negative about the distance the sales staff maintains.

We suggest you shop online because in-store prices seem higher than stated on its website. Perhaps this is to offset the expenses of maintaining a brick-and-mortar store.

Free furniture delivery and assembly are available (with an added fee for orders below THB 3,000), but only for orders made through its official website.

Pros

  • Over 40 years in business
  • Great location
  • Excellent warranty policy
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Need to call in to check stocks
  • So-so after-service availability

SB Design Square is another pioneer in the Thai furniture business. It’s been making different home furniture for over 40 years and has no plans to stop anytime soon.

We’re glad that SB Design Square is inside Ratchada’s Big C Extra hypermarket.

This location makes it more convenient for homeowners to shop not just for their groceries but for any other home repair or construction needs.

SB Design has an excellent selection of furniture models — with built-in and compact (or prefab) kitchen setups for sale. These can go from as low as THB 4,000 to beyond THB 600,000.

If you buy kitchen cabinets, these have a one-year warranty (hinges and castors have a more extended warranty of 20 years from the date of delivery).

We could not ask for better proof of product quality with that warranty!

However, note that this warranty does not cover damage caused by natural use or misuse, which is fine since that’s fair for both the store and the customer.

Pro tip: Call in or message via Line to check product availability before coming to SB Design for a smoother transaction.

The staff is very helpful to customers before making a sale but is difficult to reach for after-service matters. The store also has a delivery and installation service nationwide.

Pros

  • Well-known international store
  • Great location
  • Vast product choices
  • Excellent quality

Cons

  • Narrow parking
  • Quite expensive
  • After-sales needs improvement

Hafele is a chain of hardware stores from Germany that’s been around since 1923 and had its first Thai branch in 1994.

This Hafele branch in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit soi 64 (the main office of Hafele in the country) opened in 2012.

The Sukhumvit 64 store is in a standalone building. We’re glad it has its parking lot, but it’s a bit narrow for our liking.

This store also offers many types of kitchen cabinets. Catalogues of its current selections are available via Hafele Thailand’s official website.

Many customers agree that hardware like doors, hinges, and cabinets are Hafele’s strongest suit, so the quality of products matches the priciness.

In-store shopping is just okay but has snags here and there. Some staff isn’t that helpful to customers, and the store management won’t respond to emails or phone calls.

Items from Hafele are generally considered expensive but of high quality. However, suppose you’ll ever need replacement parts for your item, the store will have difficulty providing such needed replacement parts.

We hope that Hafele would also improve its pre- and after-sales service.

Like all other hardware stores, Hafele offers delivery and installation service. It depends on the items, so it’s best to check with the store for the specifics.

5. Boonthavorn

Pros

  • Excellent selection of kitchen cabinets
  • Great location
  • Expensive but reasonable pricing
  • Delivery service available

Cons

  • Customer service needs improvement
  • Inventory management needs improvement

Boonthavorn has the most choices for kitchen cabinets in all the stores we’ve been to for this list. Its product selection is even better than other big furniture depots in Bangkok.

You can find built-in cabinets or compact kitchen systems here.

Built-ins start at around THB 3,000 and can go beyond THB 10,000, while a compact kitchen can be more than THB 100,000 — more expensive than its biggest competitors but reasonable enough for the quality.

However, this store has a big problem with customer service and inventory management.

Boonthavorn’s sales staff is courteous enough but needs to be more attentive to customer needs. Perhaps a more problem-solver mindset can benefit the overall shopping experience.

It’s quite sad that Boonthavorn does not give discounted pricing, even for wholesale purchases.

Past customers also felt disappointed with the store’s inventory management.

Unfortunately, some were led to believe the product they wanted was readily available, only to find out eventually that it’s either out of stock or for pre-order.

If you manage to get an item in stock, you can get it delivered anywhere in Thailand for free if it costs THB 5,000 or above.

The store also offers assembly, but in most cases, these are for bigger transactions like kitchen renovations, elevator installation, etc.

The store premises itself is enormous and neatly organised. It’s in the Design Village shopping complex with restaurants and a supermarket, so visiting here could be a one-stop shopping spree.
