The 5 Best Restaurant Equipment Stores in Bangkok

Location

The top restaurant equipment stores must be relatively accessible to prospective buyers.

Product variety

We’d love to see a store that offers a comprehensive catalogue of items any restaurant might need.

Product quality

We cannot stress enough how a great equipment store must have products durable enough to withstand the heat and stress of the kitchen.

Pricing

A great commercial-use product must be worth its quality.

Customer service

Customer service might be well and good when buying, but it must not end there. After-sales service must also shine.

Pros

  • Vast product selection
  • Great location and building
  • Specialises in full kitchen systems

Cons

  • Expensive
  • So-so after-sales service

66 Kitchen has been in the restaurant equipment business, selling good kitchen and bakery equipment as well different kitchen utensils and tools, since 1986.

It has a large, two-building showroom in Khlong Toei open daily to serve individual and commercial clients.

The store facade looks elegant and modern with its metal and glass walls. One building houses general baking, cooking, and serving tools, while the other houses the commercial restaurant equipment selection.

This store specialises in creating entire kitchen systems for commercial or institutional clients.

The package includes equipment delivery, installation, setup, and maintenance, so it’s conducive for a restaurant owner looking for new additions or an upgrade to the kitchen.

If you’re a regular home cook like us, tools and utensils here could be a bit expensive for your budget (but still at par with its competitors nearby).

However, we agree with this shop’s other customers that 66 Kitchen has the best and widest range of product selections in Bangkok.

After-sales service can be a hit or miss for us smaller folk, so better manage your expectation and have a bit more patience and care in communicating with the store if an item you bought turns out to be faulty and needs replacement or repair.

Pros

  • Great location and building
  • Vast selection of good-quality equipment
  • Established brand with many branches

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Doesn’t allow credit card purchases below THB 1000

Verasu is one of Bangkok’s oldest restaurant equipment stores, established in 1977.

Its main branch is on Witthayu Road (otherwise known as Wireless Rd.) and is home to more than five levels of food & bakery equipment and a coffee shop.

We like how the store looks from both the inside and outside. It’s very classy and makes us feel like professional chefs shopping!

There’s also underground parking, so you won’t have to worry about where to leave your car even if the store’s along a busy road.

It has a vast inventory of good-quality kitchenware and appliances made locally or abroad. However, like this shop’s counterparts on the same road, items here are a bit pricey but are still worth the quality.

You can also shop at home with Verasu’s online shop — order and receive your item within 1-3 days. Payment is through credit, debit, or money transfer.

If you’re an individual shopper, there might be a snag in your shopping experience. Verasu won’t let you charge your purchase to your credit card if it’s below THB 1000.

We understand that there might be additional costs to the shop for credit card transactions, but for a company this old, we’re not quite sure if it’s still okay to impose this restriction.

Pros

  • Great for Korean restaurants
  • Wide selection of products
  • Korean and Thai-language phone lines

Cons

  • Looks like a typical warehouse store
  • Closed on Sundays

If your restaurant business idea is to take a ride on the Hallyu or Korean cultural wave, then Hanjo Co. might be the best kitchen equipment store for you.

It has grills and pans of authentic Korean quality, which is great for Korean barbecue.

Hanjo is in Prawet and nearby large supplier businesses (like one for building materials), so you can make a procurement trip in one go.

The premises have two buildings: the showroom/office and the warehouse, which look like a typical manufacturing facility from the outside.

It is another one-stop-shop on our list. It offers many kinds of kitchen tools and equipment as well as a custom kitchen consulting service.

This Korean brand has more than 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry; however, it’s been on Thai soil for just more than five.

Nevertheless, we still consider it one of Bangkok’s best restaurant equipment stores.

We’re thrilled that it offers different phone lines for Korean and Thai speakers, giving everyone service without the language barrier.

We hope it could open on Sundays so that weekday 9-5 employees or busy bees like us could have a longer window for visiting the Hanjo store and warehouse.

Pros

  • Vast product inventory
  • Very spacious and well-organised
  • Items guaranteed in stock

Cons

  • Quite far from central Bangkok
  • A bit more expensive
  • Closed on weekends
  • Alleged priority for bulk/commercial buyers

Central Hospitality Co. in Bang Na offers around 24 types of restaurant tools and equipment like bakery tools, barware, ice machines, and freezers, etc.

Its showroom is spacious, more than 2,500 square meters (over 27,000 square feet), and holds around 4,000 items.

This well-organised store has a vast inventory of local and international brands like Victorinox, Turbofan, Simply Stainless, and Eurochill, so there’s something for everyone here.

However, you’d need to carefully schedule your trip since it’s closed on the weekends.

From a distance, you might mistake this store for a car dealership (tent). But be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the store signs — what you see at the front of the Central Hospitality showroom is the covered parking for the shop’s customers.

This store guarantees that items are in stock and ready to ship immediately. It has an in-house delivery team but also taps other delivery companies to deliver products more efficiently.

Some things that might make you think twice about visiting are the store’s pretty far distance from central Bangkok, the price of items here, and (if you’re just an individual customer) the store’s priority allegedly given to commercial or bulk buyers.

Ultimately, we still think Central Hospitality is worth a visit, especially for restaurateurs. Most of the customers we’ve reached out to laud this store’s after-sales service.

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Huge product selection
  • Good quality products
  • Sells spare parts

Cons

  • Sales staff not that helpful
  • Not the most organised store

Kluaynamthai Trading Group (or KTG for brevity) is a restaurant equipment store in Klong Toei with over 40 years in the business.

You can easily spot its building along Rama IV Road due to its characteristic orange and white colour scheme.

This store boasts over 500 square meters (over 5,380 square feet) of showroom space. This is filled with different kitchen utensils, tools, and equipment (some even under KTG’s brand).

Aside from selling products, it also does repairs and even sells spare parts. In our criteria, being a spare part distributor is one good sign that KTG is the real deal.

For the product pricing, we’re not surprised to know that it has less expensive products than its competitors.

However, this lower pricing seems to translate to the store being a little less organised than how most would like it to be.

The sales staff is also slightly less helpful than other stores’ counterparts. KTG is closed every Sunday, so that’s one less day to shop for those working weekdays.

These things are totally fine for us since, at the end of the day, what matters is that we’ll be able to get home with a working item that wouldn’t break the first time we use it.
