Top 15 Restaurants in Ayutthaya To Eat Out At

Eating in Ayutthaya is so retro, you’re bound to have historical sites as background while clamping down on food. Don’t get us wrong—we’re not complaining over the old-vs-new blend (we ended up doing mukbang, by the way).

Well, we’re not keeping the fun to ourselves! Read on as we dish out the best Ayutthaya restaurants that offer the most mouthwatering cuisines!

Ruanthai Kung Pao is definitely worth checking out if you’re touring Wat Choeng Len. Aside from its quality food, the prices are also affordable—no wonder it was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

It’s also along the Chao Phraya River, so expect to see plenty of fresh seafood dishes on its menu. Its most notable offerings include charcoal-grilled giant river prawns, fried fish curry, fish ball green curry, and clear or creamy tom yum goong.

The grilled giant river prawns, in particular, are fan favorites. Be sure to come in early if you like to order this dish since they run out of them fast.

Khaotom Chedi

Another Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant in Ayutthaya, Khaotom Chedi is a popular streetside food place even among the locals. What’s unique about it, though, is its ever-changing specials and reasonable prices.

This place is also ideal if you want to sample the seasonal specialties in Ayutthaya. Just know that Khaotom Chedi doesn’t have a menu so it might be tricky for foreigners to decide what food to get.

We recommend asking for the day’s special dish. Otherwise, Thai stir-fried dishes are solid picks since they’re always excellent and available, even if they have different ingredients based on the season.
