Almost all customers we’ve talked to agree that PPK Car Center provides fast service. You can walk in and get your car out of this tent on the same day — they also assist buyers in need of financing. 

However, we’ve noted some downsides about this used car dealer.

First, its staff doesn’t speak good English. This disadvantages expats since buying a car is an important transaction that needs better communication. 

Another issue we’ve noted about PPK Car Center is that its advertised prices do not include Value-Added Tax (VAT). This makes it harder for buyers to budget their finances and could turn off some customers because it can come off as false advertising.

Although the VAT is just a tiny fraction of the actual price, it’s still a sizable amount if we’re talking about a car that costs around half a million baht.

Lastly, although PPK Car Center has many sales agents, some seem to just care about making a sale, thereby not delivering good service. 

A few customers also noted a “bait and switch” tactic among these sales agents. 

This is where an agent would lead a customer to believe that the car they’re eyeing is still available even if it’s already sold, just to lure them into buying another unit in the pretense of making the customer’s trip to the tent still worthwhile.

We hope this used car dealer improves its overall service and customer engagement.

If you’re looking for a used car dealer specialising in Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, then Motorway might be a perfect choice. This dealer has a very clean-looking showroom in the Wang Thonglang district of Bangkok.

Like some of its rivals, Motorway has been in the car business for more than 30 years. It has an inventory of more than 200 vehicles from various brands that customers can buy.

Motorway is a bit higher in pricing than its competitors, but one saving grace is that it also offers promotions.

You can roughly translate its company motto from Thai as “happy to meet peace of mind when using the service,”  but unfortunately, some customers did not feel this during their transactions. 

A few customers were unlucky to have encountered a sales agent from Motorway who couldn’t seem to let go of the comfort of his air-conditioned office, even if it was for making a sale. 

Another customer experienced unethical service, with the company seemingly forcing them to buy a car with a higher annual percentage rate (APR) at the bank.

Aside from having the top-of-the-line cars available for the best prices, we would greatly appreciate it if a used car dealer was always honest.

We understand that not all customers can afford luxury cars, which is why we also looked for a used car dealer with low to mid-range options. We liked Regent Home Car because of this and a few other reasons. 

First, it has the earliest opening time of all the dealers we’ve seen. It opens its doors as early as 7:30 AM, compared to others which open at around 9:00 AM.

Next, Regent Home Car has different used car models, from sedans to trucks by Japanese and other non-European brands. If you’re on a tighter budget, this dealer is one good option.

This dealer also offers promos such as price cuts and instalment schemes. 

Although Regent Home Car seems to have a significantly smaller inventory than the other dealers we’ve been to, most of these cars are in good condition and well maintained.

This dealer’s tent is just okay for us. It looks simple compared to other dealerships that ride on the “luxury” vibe, and the place does not get too hot.

Lastly, many customers have noted that this car dealer gives good service to buyers. Foreigners can easily transact with Regent Home Car because its sales agents speak good English.
