Since Karon Viewpoint is along a main road, you can easily get there from any point in Phuket via a bus, songthaew, taxi, or rental vehicle.

If you’re searching for a serene picnic spot near Kata Beach, Karon Viewpoint is a solid option. In fact, this place is popular among families and friends so expect to see visitors arriving in groups to have a picnic, especially during weekends.

There aren’t any food vendors in the vicinity, so bring packed food and drinks if you plan to hang out there for a while. The place has many concrete benches so you’ll have a spot to sit and relax.

There’s also a chic concrete pergola if you want more space, a roof over your head, and a solid view of the three beaches. Just keep in mind everything’s for public use, so stop by early if you want to secure a spot.

Strike a pose with an eagle perched on your arm

Getting your photo taken with a friendly eagle is one of the more unique experiences you can get out of Karon Viewpoint. Just look for the Thai lady hanging around this place accompanied by a large white-bellied sea eagle.

For only 100 baht, you can borrow her eagle friend and have it perch on your arms for a few photo opportunities. Wait for the bird to pose with its majestic open wings to capture an impressive shot!

Oh, and the eagle’s talons are covered with plastic sleeves so it can’t hurt you while it’s perched on your arms.

Tree Bay Clubhouse is a classy and scenic drinking spot near Karon Viewpoint. This place is only 550 meters away, so it’s one of the closest places you can find after admiring the viewpoint’s iconic bay view.

Its open-air dining area is designed like a viewing deck, so expect a breathtaking panoramic view of the Andaman Sea, Kata Noi Beach, and Kata Beach. 

As for the food, they have a wide selection of drinks, from cocktails and beers to coffee. They also serve numerous Thai and Western-style appetizers, mains, and desserts so you’re covered for full-on food variety.
