Your Travel Guide to Phrom Phong

If you’re planning a visit to Bangkok, one area you absolutely can’t miss is Phrom Phong. Nestled along the bustling Sukhumvit Road, Phrom Phong stands out as one of the most vibrant and exciting districts in the city’s heart, where tradition and modernity meet.

In this blog, we’ll take you on a whirlwind tour of this fantastic neighbourhood, revealing its hidden gems, top-notch attractions, and the best places to savour the local flavours. So, buckle up as we dive into the ultimate travel guide for Phrom Phong!

Best Time to Go

The best time to visit Phrom Phong and Bangkok, in general, is from the months of November to March. During this period, temperatures are ideal – not too hot and not too cold – which means you’ll be more comfortable touring the city.

Keep in mind though, that Bangkok is still a tropical country which means that temperatures can still reach highs of up to 90 degrees Celsius during the day and as low as 60 in the evenings.

How to Get There

Train/BTS: The easiest way to get to Phrom Phong is via Phrom Phong BTS Station. You can also go to the venue via MRT through the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station or the Sukhumvit Station and get off near the neighbourhood.

Depending on where you’re coming from in Bangkok, you’ll probably have to spend around 15 to 70 THB per trip on the BTS or the MRT.

Tuk-tuks or Taxis: You can also get to the site via tuk-tuks and taxis and these two options are quite convenient as they can drop you off point-to-point. Tuk-tuks are great if you want some cultural immersion but their routes and rates can be quite unreliable.

As such, we highly recommend that you haggle or negotiate the price of the fare with the driver first to avoid any misunderstanding after you get to your destination. Better yet, you can hail a taxi or call for a Grab for your own convenience!

A short tuk-tuk ride will cost you around 50 THB while a taxi or Grab car around Bangkok will set you back 100 THB for every 10 kilometres depending on traffic conditions.

Motorbike rental: If you want to get around Bangkok faster, then renting a motorbike might be your best option. Plus, it’s also cheaper than renting a car and is less affected by the sometimes heavy traffic Thailand is notorious for.

You can usually get 100 to 125cc motorbikes here but if you want something beefier, then you can look for other rental companies offering larger bikes like dirt bikes, touring bikes, and road bikes.
