If you’re looking to shoot some pool, catch a game, or just sit back with a drink and people-watch, I’ve found the best spots for it all. I’ve spent enough nights hopping between these places to know where the good vibes are. 

So, if you’re not sure where to start, here’s my rundown of the top bars in Pai—trust me, your night’s about to get a lot more fun!

Sunset Bar

With chill vibes and beautiful views of nearby rice fields, it’s a great spot to unwind.

If you want to try one of their famous mushroom shakes, don’t underestimate it!Their mushroom shakes are well-known, but be cautious. 

These drinks can have a strong effect (yes, they can get you high), so make sure you’re in the right mindset and setting before trying one.

If you’re into psychedelic trance music, this place is totally your jam. The beats are so hypnotic, you might forget what time it is (or what planet you’re on). It’s the perfect spot to let loose and dance like nobody’s watching—or like everybody’s too lost in the music to care!

The Bottle & Cat’s Whiskers

We swung by The Bottle & Cat’s Whiskers and man, what a place! Let’s start with the crew—they’re not just serving drinks, they’re practically your new drinking buddies. 

Super friendly and full of jokes, they made our night awesome with their top-notch recommendations. It was like hanging out with the experts of all things liquid gold!

Now, onto the drinks themselves. They’ve got a range that could make a sommelier blush, from killer cocktails to top-notch beers, and they won’t break the bank either. The location is spot-on too, right in the heart of everything. 

Pro tip:

This spot has more of a laid-back, semi-fancy vibe. If you’re in the mood for something upbeat and rowdy, this might not hit the mark, but it’s perfect if you prefer a more chill, classy atmosphere.

Almost Famous

Almost Famous in Pai is a blast! It’s got a great vibe with a fun crowd—perfect for chilling out with a few drinks. The mojitos there are next level, the best we’ve had in Northern Thailand. 

The owner? Total crack, the loveliest lady you could meet in Pai. Plus, the drinks are delicious and surprisingly affordable! 

Also, the location is spot on, adding to the cool atmosphere. With a wide selection of drinks and such a chill vibe, it’s easily one of our favorite spots in Pai. Can’t go wrong with Almost Famous for a great time and cheap drinks!

If you’re a cocktail lover, don’t skip the Passion Fruit Mojito. It’s refreshing, fruity, and the perfect drink to enjoy while soaking in the atmosphere.

Pai Zion Zone Bar

Zion Zone Bar is the perfect spot for chilling out surrounded by nature—mountains, streams, a pond, and even rice fields. You can’t beat relaxing in a hammock with a beer in hand, soaking up the sunshine. 

The place has a cool Reggae vibe going on, with music that sets just the right mood. It’s ideal for kicking back and enjoying the chill vibes before catching the sunset behind the mountains.

What we love the most is the lively atmosphere with great soul, drinks, and even afternoon coffee! The owners are awesome, too—super friendly and they really know how to create a welcoming vibe. 

Pro tip:

If you’re into healthier drink options, you’ll love their kombucha. It’s a refreshing alternative to beer and cocktails, and they make it really well here.

Valhalla Bar

Valhalla Bar and Hostel is an experience! The atmosphere was super chill, with a mix of drifters, nomads, and tourists all mingling together. 

The staff were incredibly friendly and treated us like family—talk about hospitality! Plus, the beer was cheap, the food was good, and the beds were comfy without breaking the bank.

It’s not just a bar; it’s like a rest stop oasis with a bonfire vibe, perfect for refreshing yourself away from the hot springs. If you’re into nature and good vibes, this place has a ton of magic to offer. We felt right at home and happy—definitely a place we won’t forget anytime soon.

Located close to the Pai Hot Springs, this bar is a great stop before or after soaking in the hot pools. The hot springs are beautiful and offer a relaxing experience with several pools to enjoy for an entry fee of 300 baht.

Make sure to catch their happy hour! With 2 small Changs for 100 baht and live music to set the mood, it’s a great way to enjoy the evening without spending too much.
