Well, what I usually do in this case is head to the sauna before going in for my scheduled visit at the spa. This combo is basically the real deal when it comes for relaxation!

So, what are you waiting for? Read on to figure out where to go for the best sauna experiences in Bangkok. Our team has tried the best ones in the capital, and we’re so excited to share our favourites with you!

Ichirin Wellness is a top-rated sauna in Bangkok known for its modern and up-to-date Japanese-themed facilities. However, this place focuses on traditional Finnish-style saunas, so expect a hot wooden room with heated stones.

They have three sauna rooms: a standard dry sauna, a magma stone room, and an Aufguss sauna. Our favorite is their magma stone room because it has mineral-rich stones that provide therapeutic, skin care, and health benefits.

This includes black germanium, tourmaline, maifan stone, and rock salt. There’s also their special Aufguss sauna, a private and ritualistic treatment with a sauna master who applies essential oils to the heated stones and performs rhythmic towel movements.

Pro Tip:

We recommend checking out their Instagram page for current special promotions. Sometimes, they offer free onsen and sauna sessions for customers who book their massage treatments!

Bangkok Ice Baths is arguably the best place when it comes to traditional heated stone saunas. Though they’re more famous for their ice baths (as you might have gleaned from their name), their authentic Finnish-style sauna is spot on as well.

Their dry sauna is always bundled with the ice bath so you get to enjoy both facilities. This 1-hour bundled session is also one of the most affordable sauna experiences you can get in Bangkok!

And there’s no need to feel lost because that helpful staff will walk you through the

treatments and all their benefits! However, their small sauna room is small and can only accommodate up to 4 people at a time.

Pro Tip:

Avoid after-work hours and weekends when visiting this ice bath and sauna spot. Even with a 1-hour session, they’ll let you stay as long as you like if they don’t have many customers.

You can also sign up on their website before booking your session. This way, you can join their community events and gatherings.

Jasmine Fitness Sauna has everything you can expect from a local wellness center. It has traditional sauna rooms, hot and cold plunge pools, showers, and more.

There are also tables and chairs for post-sauna snacks, drinks, and hangouts! Since there’s also a fitness center there, the dry and mist sauna rooms are popular among locals who go here for their daily workout sessions.

Just a heads up: Jasmine Fitness Sauna is a men-only sauna, so it’s not the best option for everyone.

Pro Tip:

Consider their membership plan if you’re planning to visit regularly. This will also get you special promotions during big holidays like New Year’s Day, Songkran Festival, and more.

Yumoto Spa stands out as an authentic private Japanese onsen. Their elegant and decked-out modern facilities with rustic Japanese-style interiors stand out and add to the overall charm.

Although, they only have a hot stone sauna which is included in their signature onsen day pass. Yumoto Spa is also pricier than other sauna spots in the city, but they’re definitely worth the privacy and relaxing ambiance.

For a more soothing experience, try the special aromatherapy and hot stone package. With this, essential oils are added to the sauna’s heated stones for improved blood circulation, stress relief, and deep relaxation.

Pro Tip:

Though they have excellent private rooms, they don’t have soundproofing, especially on windows facing the busy Sukhumvit Road.

Krubb Bangkok Social Club & Sauna

Krubb Bangkok Social Club & Sauna is a popular men-only sauna among the capital city’s gay community. Their spacious wooden dry sauna rooms are equipped with electric heaters, so expect a more modern sauna experience.

But their biggest draw is the social club concept which attracts many locals and foreigners. If you like to meet new people while indulging in a relaxing dry sauna, this is the perfect place!

Other facilities you can enjoy here include a fitness gym, onsen, drinking bar, dark room, mirror room, prison-themed room, and private cabin. They also hold regular social events which they announce on their Instagram page.

Pro Tip:

Krubb Bangkok Social Club & Sauna is always packed during after-work hours, so it’s the best time to visit if you want to meet and have fun with many people.

Otherwise, swing by between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for a more relaxed experience.

Silom Sauna

Address: 401, 17 Sukhumvit Alley 22, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei

Operating Hours: 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. (Daily)

Contact Number: +66 2 663 4010

Pricing: ฿

Silom Sauna is the quintessential men-only sauna in Bangkok. It’s a big public bathroom-like space dotted with tables, chairs, and hot and cold pools.

There’s also a fitness gym and a small counter serving Thai food, fruits, and cold drinks—convenient, right? As for their sauna, it can accommodate up to 8 people so it can sometimes be too hot, especially with the two heaters.

Though facilities are well-maintained, the dated interiors make you feel like you’re back in the 1980s. It can be a hit or a miss, depending on what you’re after.

Towels, barley tea, and fruit slices are complimentary, by the way, and the entry fees are affordable—what more can you ask for?

Pro Tip:

Silom Sauna is hidden in a large car park far behind the tall buildings across SOVA Hotel Bangkok in Sukhumvit Alley 22, so it can be tricky to spot if you’re new to the neighborhood.

But you don’t have to worry about parking space, so it’s great if you’re driving a car.

Sathon Sauna

Address: 44 Saphan Khu Alley, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon

Operating Hours: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. (Daily)

Contact Number: +66 97 082 7235

Website

Pricing: ฿

Sathon Sauna is a reputable men-only local establishment offering a Finnish-style dry sauna with two electric heaters. We like their sizable sauna room because it provides sufficient space and better temperature control.

Their facilities are clean but outdated, so expect a more old-school vibe. They also have hot and cold plunge pools, lockers, showers, and a vending machine.

You also get complimentary water, iced tea, fruit slices, and access to fresh towels, sauna pants, and shoes. They also have a fitness and massage center which are great options before and after a relaxing dry sauna.

Pro Tip:

Sathon Sauna is tucked away at the end of a narrow alley along Rama IV Road, so it’s best to drive a motorbike if you plan to go here. This way, you don’t have to walk and it’s easier to deal with oncoming traffic and street-parked cars.

Yunomori Onsen & Spa is definitely worth visiting if you’re a fan of Japan’s bathing culture. They have a wide range of traditional and modern onsen rooms, a steam room, and a dry heat sauna.

Their dry heat sauna is moderate-sized and reaches temperatures of up to 80 and 95 degrees Celsius. This encourages sweating better which is great for opening your pores, cleansing the skin, and releasing tension.

These facilities are available to use with their reasonably priced day passes. You can also bundle it with their numerous services: Thai massage, herbal compress, cryotherapy, face contouring, body scrub, aromatherapy, and more.

Pro Tip:

For the best value for money, buy multiple passes at once for a good discount. This is great if you plan to visit on different days or invite your family and friends.

They also offer 6-month and annual unlimited onsen packages, which is great if you’re in Bangkok for a while.

Plus, they use 18 different herbs, so expect a wide array of health and skin benefits. Their organic herbal steam sauna particularly works best when enjoyed before their traditional Thai massage and spa treatments.

You can book their sauna for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or as part of a bundle with their herbal treatments and spa packages. This includes full body massage, 18-herb body scrub, oil part massage, and herbal ball compress.

Carnation Sauna is a men-only sauna in Bangkok that provides the standard services you’d expect from an affordable local establishment. This includes a traditional dry sauna room, hot and cold pools, a gym, and more!

Their old-school interiors have vibrantly painted walls, so it doesn’t look and feel as outdated which is a plus. There’s also a large flat-screen TV, so you can watch shows while enjoying your post-sauna snacks and drinks.

They have a large Thai-style sauna that can accommodate up to 30 people and reach extremely high temperatures.

There’s also a citrus-scented steam sauna which isn’t as hot, so it’s better for respiratory issues than full-on detoxification and deep relaxation.

Pro Tip:

Smoking is allowed here, so watch out for their designated smoking area if you want to light one.
