7 of Our Favorite Cheap Kuala Lumpur Hotels That Don’t Skimp on Quality!

One of the top reasons why Malaysia is considered cheap for tourists is because of its wide selection of cheap hotels. You won’t even have to look further than its capital to see these affordable but high-quality accommodation options!

As a lifelong resident of Kuala Lumpur, I’ve had my fair share of city staycations, some of which are more lavish than others. However, my favourite experiences are often with hidden gems that offer great bang for your buck—hence, this list!

If you’re planning to stay in KL but don’t want to spend all your budget on accommodations, here are cheap but reliable hotels in the city:

Travelodge Chinatown allows you to hit two birds with one by offering cheap rooms and a strategic location. It’s near various restaurants and shops as well as must-visit tourist spots like the Central Market and the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple!

The rooms aren’t too shabby as well, as they’re all spacious, neat and fitted with modern amenities. However, the hotel doesn’t come with a pool, so it’s best for those who are just looking for a place to crash after a day of exploring.

There is a worthy trade to the pool, which is the common lounge. This cosy cafe offers one of the best spots to relax on a chill afternoon while you munch on your favourite snacks and drink your go-to cup of joe.

Pro tip:

If you’re planning on commuting, one of the most convenient things you can do is to ride the train and depart at the Pasar Seni station. Alternatively, you can take a bus going to the Central Market stop, which is only a couple of minutes away from the hotel.
