Boonthavorn is one of the largest home improvement stores across Thailand. With multiple branches, like the newly-opened Kaset-Nawamin, it’s highly accessible to anyone planning a renovation. 

It offers a fantastic variety of colours and pricing for natural stones like granite slabs. These are usually precut, so customisation isn’t in the cards for us customers. 

However, we’re glad to know it’s available in different price points (as of this writing, the cheapest natural granite in its online store costs 180THB/sqm). 

We appreciate the availability of online ordering. But we prefer to visit Boonthavorn in person to see samples firsthand, which helps us avoid heartbreak and unnecessary item exchanges.

Understandably, the delivery fees will also cost a bit more than others (this isn’t what your typical parcel service can handle), and the lead time will be longer.

All in all, we still consider Boonthavorn as a top choice for granite countertops, even though it’s simply a supplier and doesn’t provide installation services.

One longstanding name in the stone business is the USL Marble Company. It has built a strong reputation in the manufacture, customisation, and distribution of natural and synthetic stones across Thailand for over 20 years.

While USL Marble caters to various locations, it mainly does residential projects—making it a brilliant choice for getting a new stone kitchen countertop! It can also supply matching stone flooring.

We’re impressed with its current catalogue, featuring over 10 types of granite in differing shades and colours, making it easier to match your kitchen motif!

You can also hire the company to send in a team for installation. Now, that’s a seamless process that helps in maintaining consistency in the materials and the care in handling.

That said, USL Marble’s head office is in a Bangkok residential area instead of a formal commercial showroom. Odd—but would that really matter if the products are good?

Silatak is a supplier of both natural and artificial stone in Bangkok. It also sells ceramic tiles, bathroom fixtures, and stone-masonry tools.

Its store is huge, with everything housed in a spacious single-floor building. The highway location also makes it truly accessible.

The granite selection is especially impressive, since it comes in a wide range of colours. Product prices are low, yet they deliver actual value for money.

You can even ask the shop to cut the stones into a custom size, have them finished, and even installed, regardless of how big or small your order is. Moreover, the staff themselves are a friendly bunch.

That said, Silatak isn’t 100% brilliant. Customer service sometimes falters, perhaps because of the sheer number of customers and the limited number of staff.

Lastly, we appreciate the delivery service, but based on previous customer reports, it needs some improvement to ensure that customers receive their orders on time and in great condition.

Bangkok Modern Granite has been in the stone industry for over 30 years. It specialises in natural stones—marble and granite—offering both supply, customisation, and installation.

This company is best known for its spectacular marble sculptures, nowadays crafted by machine for greater efficiency and precision. BMG’s portfolio also includes exterior decor for many notable buildings in Thailand.

Despite these large-scale projects, we’re glad that BMG still caters to smaller clients. If you’re going to order a custom granite countertop, expect to have a long list of stone types and finishes to choose from.

Prices are understandably on the steep side, given the quality of BMG’s granite slabs, the craftsmanship involved in shaping and finishing, and the level of customer service.

Moreover, since it only has one branch in Bangkok (the showroom), and its factory is in the province, the delivery cost of items can be higher depending on the client’s proximity to BMG’s service areas.

If you need a stone supplier for a simple home countertop to a professional-grade kitchen, then Thong Heng Stone Products and Stone Center are worth visiting. These sister companies share a showroom and have been operating for over 25 years.

Each company’s specialty complements the other perfectly.

On one hand, Thong Heng sources and hones giant chunks of natural stone into dazzling slabs and tiles. Meanwhile, Stone Center skillfully installs these stone products ‘wet’ (the traditional way, using silicone adhesive) or ‘dry’ (using metal fasteners).

That said, we’re glad that these two still serve retail clients and small projects. A granite countertop will still set you back a lot, though, since natural stones are just inherently more expensive than, say, ceramic tiles or laminate.

We suggest having an open mind when perusing their extensive granite collection. We counter over 20 types in our last visit—could be overkill to some, but surely not for highly creative clients!
