Pros

  • Offers classes for all ages
  • Has rehabilitation programs
  • Good instructors that guide students well
  • Offers free consultations through LINE

Cons

  • Slots run out quickly

The Balance Studio is one of the premier Pilates studios in Bangkok. It is well-known in the area for its expertise in targeting health issues related to problems that arise from sitting in poor positions all day, or Office Syndrome, through exercise and rehabilitation.

Moreover, The Balance Studio offers private and group classes in Pilates as well as physiotherapy services. We like that its physiotherapists are Physio-Pilates experts and use a combination of exercises and myofascial release techniques to help address the concerns of its clients.

Another great thing about The Balance Studio is that it offers Pilates for all ages. From its Kids Pilates program, which corrects posture and scoliosis, to Pregnancy Pilates for diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction, everyone in the family can attend classes here.

Furthermore, it even offers a Pilates program for seniors that can be followed at home.

While the group classes in this studio combine clients from different levels, we like that the instructors are attentive and particular in guiding each student. It may seem daunting to practice with seasoned students, but the teachers help lead each learner into a suitable posture.

However, people with health limitations are not recommended to join group sessions. In this case, The Balance Studio suggests that they take private classes so that the instructor can curate a program and concentrate on the student.

On the downside, slots for the private classes run out quickly. Advanced bookings are needed to ensure a session, especially for busy clients who want consistency in their routine and schedule.

Pros

  • A pioneer of Hot Pilates in Bangkok
  • Also offers Barre and Reformer workouts
  • Chic loft-style studio in Thonglor
  • Ample parking spaces

Cons

  • Occasional cancellations for under-booked classes

Pilates Plus first stood out in the crowd by offering the first Hot Pilates practice in Bangkok. Now, it has grown to offer more classes such as barre and Pilates Reformer workouts.

What we liked most about Pilates Plus is its chic loft-style studio which is well-equipped with Cadillac, Stability Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, and Reformer Pilates machines. Moreover, it is conveniently located in a building with ample parking space in the Thonglor district.

We also appreciate the professionalism and warm attitude of the instructors at Pilates Plus. They are motivating and flexible when it comes to the needs of their students.

Additionally, the welcoming atmosphere of the studio and the good class environment is very encouraging. Even though the Pilates sessions can be quite challenging, being in this uplifting location helped us get through the difficult exercises.

As we mentioned previously, the specialty of this studio is Hot Pilates. This mat-based program is done in a room heated between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius, which adds an extra dimension to the health benefits of regular Pilates.

Pilates Plus also offers private classes for beginners, seniors, athletes, and those with health conditions. We are also glad to see that all instructors in the studio are trained to design individualized programs for pre and postnatal clients.

Finally, we should mention that Pilates Plus is strict in enforcing its class policies. Latecomers are not permitted to enter an ongoing class, and the staff refuses entry to those without socks.

Pros

  • Fully-equipped Pilates studio
  • Accessible location near BTS Asok or MRT Terminal 21
  • Established in 2004

Cons

  • Teacher training sessions are pricier than others

Next on our list is Pilates Studio, which is considered the first professional studio for Pilates and YogaFly in Bangkok. Notably, it has been around since 2004, established by renowned guru, Master Patricia Duchaussoy.

It is noteworthy that Master Patricia Duchaussoy is known as one of the best Pilates instructors in Asia and has over 30 years of experience in the field.

Aside from being a recreational Pilates studio, this place was established as an international learning space for upcoming Pilates instructors. However, the teacher training sessions here are pricier than others, and the instructors tend to oversell their products to the students.

We appreciate the wide range of classes offered in this place. Aside from its much-availed price and group Pilates classes, it has aerial yoga, barre, and stretching classes.

While it’s convenient that class bookings can be done online, we were disappointed that the system is full of bugs, even when checked on different devices. We were unable to reserve a class through the website because the digital schedule did not load.

On the other hand, the staff at Pilates Studio are quick to respond and confirm class reservations through phone calls and LINE messaging.

Finally, we like the convenient location of Pilates Studio, which is only a two-minute walk from either BTS Asoke or MRT Terminal 21. Jasmine City Building also offers free 2-hour parking to visitors, which adds to the accessibility points of this studio.

Pros

  • Small and personal studio
  • Fully equipped with various Pilates machines

Cons

  • Pricier classes

If you are looking for Pilates classes in a cozy and personal studio, Pilates by Apittiya might be the one for you. The tag line on its website states that they offer the best Pilates experience in Bangkok, so we set off to see if it stands by its claims.

Upon getting to its location in Sathorn, we were welcomed by lush greenery that led to a homey studio. We were pleasantly surprised at this serene and peaceful venue, which is a respite amid the central business district in Bangkok.

Although this venue is smaller than other commercial Pilates studios in the area, we were glad to see four separate rooms filled with different equipment for various classes.

Their range of equipment is also impressive, even exceeding what large, commercial Pilates studios offer. Here, we found Cadillacs, Reformers, Wunda Chairs, Paddle Boards, TRX, Ladder Barrels, Bodhi Suspension Apparatus, and MOTR, aside from the usual Pilates materials.

Furthermore, we were impressed to learn that the founder, Appittiya or Bom, is a Master Instructor of Pilates with over ten years of experience in the field. Furthermore, she is a Balanced Body Faculty Member of Anatomy In Three Dimensions: CoreAlign, MOTR, and BODHI Suspension.

Notably, all instructors in the studio are trained by P’Bom. What we like most about their approach is their focus on the quality of movement and the pace of breathing, leading to fulfilling sessions even after one session.

Pros

  • Exceptional Quality
  • Impeccable Efficiency
  • Luxurious Atmosphere
  • Worthwhile Investment

Cons

  • Buys during peak days

Three Studio Pilates is a veritable haven for fitness aficionados. Our journey through their doors left us invigorated, and we’re thrilled to share our experience.

From the moment we entered, the studio exuded an aura of sophistication that could rival a couture boutique. Their staff’s warm smiles made us feel like cherished guests at a high-society soirée.

Three Studio Pilates showcased an unrivaled commitment to quality. The state-of-the-art equipment and the meticulous attention to detail in their instruction was like being served a Michelin-star meal for our bodies.

Efficiency is their middle name. Our sessions seamlessly flowed, with no time for the mind to wander. Instructors gracefully choreographed each movement, ensuring our time was well spent.

But what about cost? Well, it’s a worthy investment. The old adage “you get what you pay for” rings true here. The exceptional quality and service more than justifies the expense.

Our journey with Three Studio Pilates was like taking a private jet to fitness success. The atmosphere was pure class, the quality impeccable, and the efficiency unparalleled. It’s a luxurious destination that will make you rethink your fitness regimen.

In our opinion, Three Studio Pilates is more than just a pilates studio; it’s a lifestyle statement. From the moment you walk in until you leave, you’re treated to a symphony of health and well-being orchestrated by true professionals.

Efficiency isn’t just a word in their vocabulary; it’s the rhythm of their sessions. Time spent here is a wise investment in your body and soul.

Do note, though, they can get fully booked quickly. We advise booking a slot ahead of time.

Pros

  • Offers free initial consultations with a physiotherapist
  • Has online classes

Cons

  • Established in 2016, so relatively young studio

Pilates Base is a beautiful studio in Ekamai founded in 2016 by Japanese PHI Pilates master trainer, Miko-san. It’s a popular option for Pilates among Japanese residents in Bangkok, given its founder’s origin.

Initially, we found it difficult to glean information on this studio since its website is in Japanese. However, it has Thai and Japanese instructors on board, and foreigners are welcome to sign up for the classes.

We are also glad that this studio offers various options for Pilates sessions that accommodate learners from all fitness levels.

Moreover, trial sessions are conducted first, which begin with a thorough consultation with a physiotherapist to determine problem areas. Fitness goals are discussed afterward, focusing on proper alignment and posture.

Interestingly, they take pictures of the clients before starting the sessions to record their current posture. After the session, another photo is taken, and it’s surprising to see the improvements after only one session of Pilates.

Another thing we like about Pilates Base is its beautiful and spacious multi-level venue, with various equipment for private classes. The first floor is a dedicated reception area, the second floor is for group sessions, and the succeeding floors are for private lessons.

Overall, we appreciate the easy-to-follow sessions at Pilates Base. Even beginners experience a fun time through the challenging exercises due to the guidance of their knowledgeable and professional teachers.
