Pros
- Proven track record for events and catering
- Top-notch event management services
- Excellent food and venue available
Cons
- Expensive packages
- Actual catering service might not be perfect
One of the best catering services in Bangkok is from the OG hotel in Thailand, the Mandarin Oriental.
This luxury hotel along the Chao Phraya River has been the venue for many civilian and royal banquets since the late 1870s. Because of this aspect, we’re sure it has the authority on good food and excellent service.
What we like the most about Mandarin Oriental is its capacity to hold events. You can have a very intimate get-together with as few as ten participants or a grand ballroom with over 800 guests!
Next, the food served in each event is also to die for, thanks to the expertise and utmost care of the hotel’s chefs and kitchen staff, currently led by Executive Chef Dominique Bugnand. We love that there are always several options for catering: Western, Thai, or even Chinese cuisine.
However, do note a few drawbacks if you’ll want to have an event at the Mandarin Oriental:
First, the price will definitely be higher than the average catering service since the hotel’s Catering and Events Management staff will carefully plan every detail of your event. However, you’ll not be disappointed with the quality–especially with the food.
Since nothing is perfect—there can be snags on either the caterer’s or the client’s side, especially at huge events. We’re also not sure if all of your guests will be fully satisfied with the service on the day of the event, so management of one’s expectations is still needed.
Nevertheless, we highly recommend the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok for your catering needs if you have the budget.

Pros
- Featured in the Bangkok Michelin Guide
- Uses authentic Italian ingredients
- Fully customisable catering options
Cons
- Service can still be improved
- Meals taste just okay
- A bit expensive
If your event needs a Michelin Guide-approved catering service in Bangkok, then Lenzi Tuscan Kitchen is a prime choice! As its name suggests, this restaurant specialises in authentic Italian cuisine from the shores of the Tuscany region.
Lenzi Tuscan Cuisine is a bit expensive, but for several good reasons.
First is its location, Witthayu / Wireless Road, which is accessible and also a widely known location of luxury hotels and foreign embassies. We think this is one factor that adds to its hefty price tag.
Next is the best thing about Lenzi – the quality of the ingredients used in their menu. We love that Chef Francesco Lenzi sources these directly from his family farm in Pisa and nearby Tuscan towns.
The restaurant also has a great selection of wines to pair with your antipasto (appetiser) or main dish. Chef Lenzi personally attends to every plate going out of the restaurant kitchen, so we’re sure our meal passed the standards of a true-blooded Italian palate.
As for their catering services, we’re delighted that Chef Lenzi makes a menu tailored to your event’s specific needs (whether it’s about quantity or the guests’ food restrictions). Notably, Lenzi has catered many events like home and business functions.
On the other hand, customers generally consider Lenzi’s lunch and dinner service as okay but not the best.
As for the actual taste of the food, we found it decent but not worthy of the price tag. A couple of customers we’ve reached out to found this restaurant’s regular pasta serving a bit less than al dente but still delicious.

Pros
- Accessible location
- Offers catering and event venues
- Uses authentic ingredients
- Good waitstaff
Cons
- A bit expensive
- Small servings for the price
- Service is a bit slow
Brunello in Suan Luang district is an Italian restaurant, event venue, and catering service all rolled into one!
We deem this restaurant the best choice if you want an all-in catering service in Bangkok because it offers a fully-customisable menu. If you opt to do so, you can even get to hold your event at the restaurant premises itself with no additional fees!
Brunello also has a private room that can fit up to 14 people–perfect for intimate events.
Perhaps the best asset of Brunello is its owner Mr. Luciano Improta, a businessman from a family of jewellers who likes sharing his love for good food. With his initiative and recipes, he brought up Brunello to serve authentic meals with the best ingredients from Naples.
We found that Brunello’s food is a bit expensive, but still worth it for the quality.
The best food to sample here is the Tomahawk steak, risotto, and pizza (customers agree that the pizza is one of the best in Bangkok!). We’re also happy with the vast choice of wines to pair with.
Another asset of Brunello is the service. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and very accommodating to us customers.
However, the overall service could improve with a quicker waiting time and the provision of table napkins, breadbasket, and condiments to diners. We’d also appreciate larger servings for the price the restaurant charges.

Pros
- Best for afternoon events
- Also makes giveaways
- Delicious cakes and pastries
- Uses all-natural ingredients
- Staff speak good English
- Fair pricing
- Has five branches in Bangkok
Cons
- Staff can improve on customer engagement
- The main branch is hard to find
For catering to afternoon events, you might get the idea of serving desserts and pastries for a lighter meal. Good thing Yellow Spoon in Watthana can help you with this for a fair price.
You can opt to get Yellow Spoon to set up a dessert and pastry buffet. This bakeshop even makes snack boxes and giveaways for your event guests!
We chose this caterer not only because of the type of food it offers but also because of the proven great taste and quality of their desserts. Yellow Spoon’s offerings are also literal eye candies that add delight to any occasion.
Furthermore, we love Yellow Spoon’s tarts, cookies, and cakes with 100% all-natural ingredients. We particularly like their savoury quiche.
If you want to sample its offerings, you can drop by any of its five branches across Bangkok: Ekkamai (main), EmQuartier, Central Rama 3, Central Festival Eastville, and Little Walk Bangna. Just note that the main branch is a bit hard to find since it’s at the end of a soi.
Talking with the staff is easy because they speak Thai and English. However, some customers noted that some staff members need to improve their attitude when engaging with customers.

Pros
- Fair pricing
- Can travel to your location
- Great-tasting satay and side dishes
Cons
- Not typically for formal events
- Travel costs are still on top of the THB 10,000 fee
Next on this list is for street food lovers. Moo Satay Nai Song (“moo” means “pork” in Thai) is a famous satay or barbecued pork shop at Stadium One in Pathum Wan district.
For those unaware of its reputation, this shop serves one of the best satays in Bangkok. Its pork satay is extraordinarily tender and goes well with bread dipped in sweet peanut sauce.
We’d like to discuss the satay more, but let’s just leave that for another post.
We were delighted to know that it offers catering or “off-site” operations for events. For a very reasonable price of THB 10,000, you can have 1,000 satay sticks expertly grilled on location by two staff, peanut sauce, and ajad (Thai cucumber salad).
Do note that this price includes utensils and paper plates but will still go up depending on the travel costs of the Moo Satay staff to your chosen location.
This setup is perfect for your birthday party or business event. With a satay stick usually costing THB 9 a piece, this is definitely a steal!
Reservations made at least two days in advance are required for off-site services. Moo Satay also requires a 30% deposit for this service, which sounds like a fair policy for us.
