Pros
- Great location
- Classy store interior
- Quality mattresses
- Excellent sales staff
- Fair Pricing
Cons
- Quite expensive
- Delivery needs improvement
Dunlopillo is one of the oldest mattress manufacturers in the world, having started operations in 1929. Today, its products are still considered one of the best latex mattresses around.
Its Central Rama 3 mall branch in Chong Nongsi district is the best Dunlopillo showroom we’ve seen. It has exquisite interiors in black and gold, making it look more like a fashion boutique than a sleeping implement store.
We love that this shop’s service staff are accommodating and attentive (though this should be a given already due to the brand’s high reputation). Past customers also agree with our observation of Dunlopillo’s excellent service staff.
During our visit, they carefully answered our inquiries about the different mattresses on display. They even took the assistance further by asking how soft or firm we wanted our bed to be and if we had any muscular or skeletal issues to consider.
Mattresses here can cost as low as THB 8,000 while buying a whole bed and mattress package can cost as high as THB 250,000. But since Dunlopillo is arguably one of the best mattress brands in the world, we think his pricing is fair given the quality.
One thing that Dunlopillo seems to need improvement on is the delivery service. Some past customers noted their terrible communication with the store to deliver their beds—deliveries came in hours late or were moved to another date.
We hope that these are just isolated incidents and that the management has addressed these issues.
2. Mattress City (Asok – Rama 9)

Pros
- Specialising in bedding
- Huge establishment at Rama 9
- Local and international shipping
- Moderate pricing
- Has 29 other locations in Bangkok
Cons
- Hit-or-miss service quality
- Website listings don’t match actual products in-store
Mattress City claims to be the country’s “first bedding specialty store.” It established its first store on Din Daeng Road in 2014, while its Rama 9 Branch opened two years later.
It carries all types of products related to sleep and the bedroom: mattresses, beds, sheets, comforters, pillows, etc. in moderate pricing. These are usually from international brands like Lotus Bed, La-Z-Boy, Lalabed, and Omazz.
You can even try out many different mattresses at Mattress City’s huge store. However, the experience of shopping in-store can be a mixed bag.
Some customers get lucky with attentive sales staff, while others get unfortunately stuck with allegedly incompetent staff who are busier on their phones than on making a sale (farangs seem to get more of the latter because the staff here generally don’t speak good English).
Product listings on its website also do not always reflect the actual products they have at its brick-and-mortar stores. We suggest you call in before visiting to check product availability, especially if you’re eyeing higher-end items.
We hope that the management will address the issues regarding its sales service to improve its customers’ overall shopping experience.
Lastly, we love that Mattress City has free shipping all over the country. It’s a pleasant surprise for us that this store can also ship internationally.
3. CHANINTR OUTLET

Pros
- Modern style with an elegant traditional twist
- Huge store
- Attractive displays
- Premium products from US and EU
Cons
- Pricier items
- Some sales staff can improve their attitude
- Long waiting times for pre-ordered items
CHANINTR is a furniture importer and distributor established in 1994. It also provides other services like interior design and architecture services.
The CHANINTR OUTLET store specialises in high-end furniture in a mix of modern and traditional styles, mainly from Europe and the United States.
We suggest visiting its showroom in Sukhumvit 61 that’s full of displays you can try out—it’s much like IKEA, but better, in our opinion.
However, unlike IKEA, beds with mattresses at CHANINTR OUTLET can go for as much as THB 1,000,000. As its luxurious establishment suggests, shopping here is not a small deal at all.
This is perhaps the poshest of all the mattress stores we’ve been to. At first glance, you wouldn’t realise that you’re looking at a furniture store—the building screams elegance with a brutalist architecture more fitting of a clothing store or events place.
However, sales staff here are unfortunately so-so. While some of them are helpful and good with sales talk, not all are accommodating.
Another downside we’ve seen is the long waiting time for some imported items. Buying furniture from this store involves a long wait because some products need to be pre-ordered abroad.
Nonetheless, if you have the budget to splurge on a luxurious mattress, CHANINTR OUTLET is a top choice in Bangkok!

Pros
- Great location
- Stylish furniture
- Many product options
Cons
- Expensive
- Minimum purchase for delivery
- So-so after-sales
If you’re looking for a mattress shop that prioritizes design and aesthetics, then Chic Republic is the one you need. This furniture and decor store in Bangna considers itself “The First Home Fashion Store in Thailand,” and features modern yet traditional-looking pieces.
Chic Republic stands inside a big, standalone building. We like that there are also cafes and restaurants inside, so customers can unwind and have a meal after shopping for mattresses here.
We also appreciate that this store carries a wide variety of mattresses and bedroom items. Some of the international brands it has include the pioneer US mattress brand Sealy and its sister brand Tempur, Lotus, and Slumberland, among others.
If you want to shop in the comforts of your home, you can buy via its official website. We appreciate that this option includes free delivery and installation for those living in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area if the total bill is about THB 3,000.
Just note that this is another high-end store, so products here are priced higher than average. The mattresses start at THB 15,000 and go up to THB 800,000, but keep an eye out for regular promos and discounts!
On the downside, we’re a bit concerned about the quality of its after-sales service. We noted some customer complaints about its slow inadequate updates regarding product repairs or replacements.
5. TEENONPEENANG (Penang Mattress Shop)

Pros
- Many products available
- Established in 1983
- Inexpensive items
- Free Delivery
Cons
- Awkward shop location
- Some issues with the quality of delivered items
Don’t let the name fool you—TEENONPEENANG, or Penang Mattress, doesn’t only sell mattresses. It sells many types of furniture like sofas, dining sets, and office tables.
Penang Mattress has seven branches and has been in business since 1983. Its notable customers (like apartments, hotels, and resorts) are listed on its official website, validating this store’s outstanding reputation and extensive experience in sales.
We love this store’s low prices the most. A lot of its past customers go back repeatedly because Penang Mattress offers the best value for money for furniture in all of Bangkok.
Prices here are less expensive than they are in malls. For example, the cheapest spring mattress here costs just around THB 2,000.
Delivery is for free, but be observant of the condition of the items you receive.
We noted a few customer complaints about Penang Mattress allegedly sending slightly damaged goods. While there were only a couple of incidents, it wouldn’t hurt to be more careful.
If you want to shop at Penang Mattress, brace yourself because its awkward location surprised us a lot. It has two buildings divided by a railway and directly below the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway (the expressway looks like it’s the store’s actual roof)!
