Fuel Up for Paradise: 10 Must-Try Breakfast Spots in Krabi

Krabi is such a beach paradise, you could easily forget about your morning bite. I remember one of my mountaineering friends was so enamored by rock climbing at Railay Beach that he skipped breakfast to conquer those limestone cliffs.

I must say he had his fair share of rock climbing. But before noon, he was crying for help, calling everyone in our group as he lay helplessly on the white sands urging us to bring him water and food—and fast.

So much for all the adventure. The good news is we’re giving you the best breakfast spots in Krabi, so you won’t have to starve in the middle of your adventure!

Much & Mellow is one of the more well-known breakfast spots in Krabi that locals and tourists frequent. It’s a newcomer in Krabi’s restaurant scene, so expect a stylish and well-lit rustic interior that is in line with modern standards.

Their menu is massive, so there are a lot of breakfast and brunch options you can try. This includes smoothie bowls, pasta, Japanese rice bowls, Western-style soup, and numerous breads, pastries, and breakfast sets.

However, this cafe is more famous for its 13 signature coffee blends, which we think is definitely worth coming here for. These are the best blends we recommend:

  • Yuzu coffee – unique and delicious blend with yuzu juice, homemade syrup, and double espresso shots served in a margarita glass.
  • The Present – sweet and Instagrammable concentrated coffee mix with fruit juice, homemade syrup, foamed milk, and cinnamon sugar served in a wine glass.
  • Tiramisu – creamy and concentrated iced coffee mix with chocolate and cream cheese topped with two ladyfingers.

Pro Tip:

For the best experience, we suggest going to their Krabi Town branch since it has a larger dining area with plenty of comfy seating options.

Menu

Though not open until later in the morning, CRU Kitchen & Bar is still one of the best places for breakfast in Krabi. The breakfast menu here focuses on Western dishes, so expect salads, Italian pasta, cheese plates, and cold cuts.

Our favorite is their signature cheese plate with premium slices of pecorino romano, Saint-Nectaire, Tomme de Savoie, and gorgonzola. Moreover, they serve it with olives, nuts, chili honey, sourdough, and biscuits.

Aside from that, they have an excellent selection of tapas and sharing plates which we think is perfect if you’re eating with your family or friends. This consists of numerous seafood, meat, and vegetable dishes including fresh oven-baked flatbread.

Pro Tip:

It’s worth noting that CRU Kitchen & Bar doesn’t have a designated parking spot for customers, so it might not be the best option if you’re driving a car. Otherwise, you must secure a parking spot elsewhere before coming here.

Mañana Mexican Food has an excellent selection of breakfast options, from tacos to burritos, quesadillas, and more.

Of these, our top pick is the chili con carne taco bowl. This value-for-your-money option is packed with tortillas, chicken breast, rice, black beans, guacamole, sweet corn, and salsa so you have enough for your power breakfast needs.

Their burrito bowl is another good value pick, but if you want your mind blown, we recommend getting their special beef birria tacos. It nails the complex flavors of authentic birria: spicy, savory, sweet, smokey, and tangy!

Pro Tip:

We recommend coming to Mañana Mexican Food during its opening time to avoid the early lunch rush. Service is usually slow when the restaurant is packed.

It also serves a wide range of Western-style breakfast items which is why it’s popular among foreigners. This includes pasta, smoothie bowls, brunch sets, and more.

The cafe’s biggest sellers are their all-day brunch sets. Among these sets, our go-to is the full breakfast with Italian sausage, bacon, potato, mushroom, tomato, toast, and two eggs cooked any style since we think it’s the best value for your money.

Pro Tip:

Tan Tribe Cafe accepts card payments, unlike most food spots in Ao Nang Beach. However, keep in mind that a 3% transaction fee will be charged for card payments.

But that’s not all—you also have plenty of breakfast options from their Western menu. Think grilled cheese sandwiches, smoothie bowls, homemade desserts, and more.

Their excellent grilled cheese sandwiches are our team’s favorites, especially the romesco grilled cheese with homemade Spanish-style roasted red pepper sauce. Plus, everything is vegetarian-friendly, and there are a few vegan options as well.

Pro Tip:

Brightside Bistro has more indoor seating options but they don’t offer a beach view. The upside? You can get access to their outlets!

The Coffee Club is a solid option because it ticks some essential boxes: chic modern interiors, sublime Ao Nang beachfront view, excellent specialty coffee, and large breakfast menu.

However, the cafe’s biggest selling point for us is its wide range of Western and Thai breakfast dishes.

If you want a peaceful breakfast, go to 98 Cafe. This humble streetside cafe is in a quiet neighborhood at the edge of the town center, so it’s a great option if you want to avoid the areas most tourists frequent.

Their menu offers a nice selection of Western and Thai food which is ideal if you want full-on variety. They have local specialties (try their pad Thai!), and Western staples like baguette sandwiches, burgers, and pancakes.

The foodies on our team say the highlight was the affordable and delicious American breakfast. It comes with 2 fried or scrambled eggs, 2 bacon slices, buttered 2 toast, orange juice, and a choice between hot Americano and black tea.

Pro Tip:

89 Cafe doesn’t have a large staff, so don’t come here if you’re famished. Also, their portion sizes are small for most foreigners, so be prepared to order a few if you’re a big eater.

Menu

Pakarang Vintage Cafe is a charming breakfast spot that’s perfect for tourists who are up for some retro vibes. The cafe’s rustic interior is adorned with artsy decor and shelves full of English books, so there are plenty of interesting things to see as well.

As for the food, we’re fans of their smoothie bowls! The mixed berry smoothie bowl, in particular, is a great pick as it’s loaded with strawberry, blueberry, apple, dragon fruit, and grape honey.

Moreover, they don’t add any sugar to it, so you only taste the natural sweetness of the fruits. Don’t forget to get a cup of their signature cappuccino—it’s definitely one of the best cappuccinos in Krabi!

Pro Tip:

Pakarang Vintage Cafe’s dining area only has a few tables, so be sure to come early to secure a spot. The place is usually packed for brunch.
