Abandoned Mansion is one of the more established speakeasy bars in Bangkok, and it’s definitely a must-visit if you’re a fan of this concept. The bar has a charming neo-industrial interior, making you feel vintage and modern vibes.

They also use a lot of Italian mafia motifs, upbeat jazz tunes, and silent movie clips to capture the atmosphere of old-school bars. In fact, they even name their signature food and drink offerings after infamous criminals, mafioso, and mafia movie titles.

When it comes to drinks, they focus more on imported beers, spirits, and world-class labels. Though this gives you full-out variety, expect a steep price tag on their by-the-bottle and by-the-glass offers.

Pro Tip:

Booking a reservation here is highly recommended because the place can get packed quickly. Just keep in mind that even without receiving a confirmation, your reservation will push through.

Their drinks menu consists of world-class labels, spirits, and unique Asian-style mixologies, including one infused with Thai tea and pandan syrup. They also serve excellent complimentary snacks, so that’s a massive plus!

Pro Tip:

For a unique drinking experience, try their butterfly effect shot. It’s a special mixology made with ingredients you and the person before you ordered, perfect if you love being surprised.

The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar is a hidden drinking spot known for its open atmosphere and superb city view. Tucked away in Hotel Muse Bangkok, this speakeasy’s cozy lounge seating and quiet disposition make it ideal for intimate dimly-lit drinking dates.

Plus, its high-rise location is great for escaping the bustling Bangkokian atmosphere. It gets better if you get one of the tables next to the railing which offers a splendid view of the city’s glimmering night lights and awe-inspiring skyline.

Our only issue was their limited food menu. However, they make up for it with a great selection of local and imported beers, wines, spirits, and their signature prohibition-era cocktails.

Pro Tip:

Booking a table reservation in The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar is highly recommended. This way, you can secure a nice spot with an excellent view.

Bar 335 is a true hidden gem. This speakeasy bar is tucked away somewhere in Novotel Suites Bangkok, behind a dilapidated-looking backdoor that doesn’t look like it opens at all.

It’s a nice cover for the bar’s stylish, rustic, and dim-lit Thai-style interior. But the biggest highlight is its lively and attentive bartenders who make you feel welcome and vibe well with their mixed-aged crowd, so it’s a win-win for everyone.

But that’s not all—their excellent selection of cocktails and whiskeys is a big plus. There’s also a live DJ who performs diverse tunes all night long so the atmosphere never gets dull.

Pro Tip:

The live music in Bar 335 can be too loud. If conversations are a big part of your ideal drinking experience, this might not be the speakeasy bar for you.

Find The Locker Room is the epitome of a speakeasy bar in Bangkok. This secret drinking spot is aptly named, so you can only find it hidden behind an unassuming locker room door in the graffiti-filled building along Thonglor.

It features a dark gray interior, warm-toned lights, and a small dark wood bar counter. But our favorite is their time-capsule-themed cocktail menu consisting of mixologies based on bygone fashion trends and pop culture references from the 60s to the ’10s.

They also have a signature Past, Present, and Future cocktail menu. It includes a fine selection of classic drinks, modern favorites, and newfound flavors, perfect for adventurous drinkers who like to explore new drinking experiences.

Pro Tip:

There’s a special way to open the locker room door to this bar, so pay attention to the clues at the venue. Here are the clues in case you don’t find them:

  • “A door can slide.”
  • “Slide the door in front of you when you enter to the left and walk upstairs.”

This bar focuses on music-themed cocktails based on classic versions and remakes of popular and niche bands. They also use musical notes to indicate their cocktail’s attributes, from the flavor to the acidity, alcohol content, creaminess, and more.

Plus, a live jazz band compliments their fine selection of mixologies. If you’re not into cocktails, their drinks menu also includes local and imported beers, spirits, and wines.

Pro Tip:

Their live jazz band doesn’t play until closing time, so be sure to arrive early if you want to listen to live music.

Alonetogether Bar Bangkok is arguably the best speakeasy bar for jazz music fans. It’s a two-story venue with a cocktail bar on the ground floor and a relaxing cigar lounge on the upper floor.

These floors boast classy interiors with dim mood lights, leather accents, and elegant dark wood motifs. Their cocktail bar has an extensive mixology menu that pairs world-class labels with various Asian ingredients and spices.

And there’s a live jazz band that plays jazz, soul, and funk music in rotation for four days which is a plus. However, what we like most is their casual cigar lounge which has a vinyl listening station that lets you enjoy classic jazz tunes.

Pro Tip:

This bar doesn’t have a good cellular reception, and there’s no WiFi as well. It’s a great place to escape the stress of the modern digital age.

The bar on the first floor is ideal for solo drinkers who like to chat with the bartenders and watch the drink preparations. Meanwhile, their seating area on the second floor features comfy loft chairs and sofas, perfect if you’re drinking with a group of friends.

Otherwise, you can opt for the third-floor drinking area which is great for large private parties. But the best part is you get to enjoy their unique 26 signature cocktails based on the letters of the English alphabet.

Rabbit Hole has live DJs like other speakeasy bars in Bangkok. However, they don’t perform daily, so you can only catch them on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The Key Room Number 72 is a speakeasy bar inside the swanky Josh Hotel. It’s hidden behind the door of room 72 which slightly defeats the purpose of secrecy if you’re already aware of the bar’s name.

But its alluring warm-toned interior and elegant marble countertop are its biggest draws, especially among couples. They also serve unique cocktails, including some infused with fruits and sweet desserts which make drinking here even more appealing.

Our favorite cocktail is their Fly Me to the Saturn. It’s an aromatic drink with a sweet jelly ball floating on top of gin, butterfly pea, vodka, lemon, jasmine, and panda concoction.

Pro Tip:

You can only open room 72 using the secret key card you can get from Josh Hotel’s reception desk. However, they ask for a 200 baht deposit, so be sure to bring enough cash.

Ku Bar

Address: 469 Phra Sumen Road, Wat Bowon Niwet, Phra Nakhon

Ku Bar is hidden inside an abandoned building in a side street branching off Sumen Road, so it’s definitely one of the most true-to-concept speakeasy bars in Bangkok.

And if you can muster the courage to enter, a modest minimalist bar will greet you.

Local and foreign drinkers frequent this bar for its creative mixologies, so don’t expect the atmosphere to be their selling point. After all, the diverse blends of spirits, Thai herbs, and milk products they serve are their main draws.

In fact, they put so much effort into preparing the drink that it makes you feel like you’re in a tea ceremony. We also like that they change their cocktail menu monthly, keeping the drinking experience unique and fresh all year round.

Pro Tip:

The building this bar is on is three stories tall, so it can take a lot of work to track down. Instead, the best way to find the door to the bar is to follow the light inside the building.
