Ying Yong Flower Garden is one of the more picturesque flower gardens in Chiang Mai, so it’s definitely worth visiting if you enjoy taking floral photos. It’s a hilltop flower garden, so you can also enjoy stunning mountain views while you’re here.
Their cream-colored wooden skywalk which offers the best views, makes exploring the garden easier, and serves as an excellent photo spot is a plus. Also, they grow numerous seasonal flowers like marigolds, lavenders, Margarets, and sunflowers.
Though this lets you enjoy beautiful flowers at any time of the year, nothing beats the winter and monsoon seasons with the jaw-dropping sea of mists they bring. Snacks and juice drinks are sold at the garden’s entrance so you’re covered for food.
Pro Tip:
The road to the garden entrance is steep, so you need a strong car if you plan to drive here. Otherwise, you can hike to the top or call their staff to pick you up with their truck which costs 40 baht per passenger.

If you love all kinds of flowers, Aunty Nok Aeang Flower Farm is an excellent garden to visit. It’s one of the several flower gardens in Chiang Mai that grow seasonal flowers, so it lets you enjoy vibrant and colorful blossoms all year round.
Think Marguerite daisies, cutter asters, goldenrods, blue salvia, chrysanthemums, cosmos, roses, and sunflowers. It’s also a great place for taking gorgeous Instagram photos thanks to the numerous photo spots they have on site.
This includes a wooden heart-shaped platform, telephone booth, piano, floating staircase, cocoon-shaped swing, hot-air balloons, and more. Our favorite is the wooden hot tub because it makes you feel like you riding a boat in a sea of colorful flowers.

It’s also worth noting that there’s no parking space, so you must leave your car at the streetside parking lot 90 meters south of Aunty Nok Aeang Flower Farm. The locals call it Uncle Kang’s parking lot.
Rao Dok Lom Nhao Community Garden

Chiang Mai Chaloem Phrakiat Park

Wiang Phing Rose Garden

This flower garden is in Chiang Mai Zoo, so you can meet numerous animals during your visit as well.

Royal Park Rajapruek has some of the most picturesque flower gardens in Chiang Mai, and it’s definitely worth the 17-minute drive from the old city. This park boasts well-maintained landscaped gardens growing all kinds of colorful blossoms.
This includes numerous varieties of hydrangeas, tulips, orchids, chrysanthemums, water lilies, flower-bearing golden shower trees, and more. Plus, they have indoor and outdoor sections that allow these flowers to grow in their preferred environment.
However, one of its biggest draws is its International Garden Zone. Here, you can see Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Iranian, Cambodian, Nepalese, and Turkish-style gardens, remnants of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek exhibition from 2006.

This gives you plenty of colorful flowers to look forward to all year round. They also have numerous photo spots like the pre-set picnic blanket, tent, telephone booth, swing, floating staircase, and pergola.
There’s also a small counter selling cold drinks and renting various props: umbrellas, headbands, flower baskets, etc. Plus, they offer free tuk-tuk rides around the garden so you don’t have to deal with the muddy terrain.

Royal Project Khun Pae

Still, they grow different colors of hydrangea flowers, so expect their flowerbeds to look vibrant and colorful. Think purple, indigo, white, yellow, lime green, and pink.
They also grow high-quality winter crops and veggies as part of the Royal Project. In fact, you can buy their produce for an affordable price which is a plus.
Pro Tip:
The hydrangea flowers they grow only bloom once a year between October and March, so be sure to visit only during these months.
Royal Rose Garden

In fact, they grow over 180 varieties so it’s definitely a must-visit if you’re a huge fan of roses. You can see roses of different colors, from white to pink, red, yellow, orange, and magenta.
But our favorites are their multi-colored roses which you can’t find in other flower gardens in Chiang Mai. This garden also has a small restaurant with a British colonial-style design that serves affordable Thai food and desserts.

There are designated walking trails within the garden which makes exploration a breeze. The flower varieties you can find here include orchids, kniphofias, water lilies, roses, society garlic, tulips, chrysanthemums, and more.

We suggest coming here in the morning to get the most out of your visit. This botanical garden has plenty of plant exhibits so you can easily spend the day checking them out.
Bai Orchid & Butterfly Farm

If you’re looking for a place to observe pretty flowers and butterflies, Bai Orchid & Butterfly Farm is the best option. It’s also the largest orchid farm in Chiang Mai, so it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a serious orchid fan.
Here, you can admire numerous orchid species blooming in different colors, from pink to yellow, white, magenta, orange, and red. We also like that some of their orchids have multi-colored petals and unique patterns.
Moreover, many butterflies are fluttering about and you can also take photos of them perched on the flowers. They also have a charming restaurant where butterflies may join your table while you eat.
