How to Get to Koh Yao Yai

Plane: The best way to get to Koh Yao Yai from Bangkok is to book a flight to Phuket International Airport. From there, you must board an airport taxi to the Bang Rong Pier in Thalang District.

Here, you can ride a ferry bound for Klong Hia Pier in Koh Yao Yai. The whole trip should only take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Bus: The cheaper alternative is to catch a provincial bus at the Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal bound for Phuket Town. Afterward, you can book a taxi from Bang Rong Pier where you can board a ferry to reach Koh Yao Yai vial Klong Hia Pier.

Keep in mind that this may take up to 14 hours, so it’s not ideal if you’re only visiting Koh Yao Yai for a few days.
