Rockworth Public Company Limited prides itself as one—if not the oldest—manufacturer and distributor of office furniture in Thailand. It was established in 1972 and is even publicly listed on The Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Its corporate headquarters and showroom along the Asok-Din Daeng Road look professional yet welcoming. 

We like Rockworth’s design language. And based on how its office looks, we think its products, such as office chairs and furniture systems, share this, too.

We’re not surprised because Rockworth has many commercial and educational clients like PTT, HSBC, Uniqlo, Shopee, Le Cordon Bleu Thailand, and CISB Schools. This company can fulfill your office requirements, whether big or small.

A typical ergonomic office chair costs from THB 5,000 to 20,000—a bit in the mid-range to premium pricing in our books. However, you can be sure that for this price point, you’ll get the best office chairs for your home office or corporate use.

You can visit its official website to look at the actual chairs they’re offering. Still, you’ll need to contact it directly or visit its showroom to get the exact pricing of products you’ll fancy. 

Visiting Rockworth with a car is easy because there’s enough parking space. However, you need to book an appointment before visiting, which is understandable given that the building is also the corporate headquarters.

Our respondents also agree that the Rockworth staff is very welcoming and friendly to customers.

Although it’s a huge company, the staff here are not pushy—they would not do the hard sell on you, so you’ll be able to choose the perfect office chair in peace. They also understand that some customers might want products under promos or have discounts.

The only thing we’re a bit sad about Rockworth is that it’s only open on a typical Monday to Friday office hour schedule. We would like it better if we could visit their showroom on the weekends to see the latest style of office chairs and furniture. 

Another store on our list for office chair stores in Bangkok is the Office Mate branch in RCA, one of the city’s nightlife hotspots. 

Office Mate is another large-scale office supplies business with the primary goal of being Thailand’s “top business solutions provider.” Since it’s a big-box store, it has a vast inventory of office supplies, furniture, and equipment. 

However, unlike its competitors that sell the same product, a typical ergonomic office chair here is about THB 5,000—more or less in the middle ground, in our opinion.

If you’re looking for more economical options, we suggest you look elsewhere.

Visiting this branch is easy if you have a car, but you may need to think twice if you’re just going to take public transportation. 

RCA is quite far from typical bus or train routes, and travelling with a huge box containing an office chair without a private vehicle isn’t the best option either. 

Their inaccessible location is why it’s a good thing they also offer free standard delivery, especially in areas around Bangkok. So you can order your office chair more efficiently and faster than expected without additional fees!

Our respondents generally had an incredible experience shopping in this Office Mate branch, so we hope this excellent service will continue.

You can consider Raminthra Furniture as one of the youngest stores on our list. It started operations in 2009 but now has at least five branches around Bangkok and Nonthaburi. 

We visited its branch in Bang Khai District, which was a bit smaller than expected. However, it somehow still works as the inside of the store is big enough to hold the many items available on display.

Shoppers we have interviewed agreed that the customer service of Raminthra is good. This observation exemplifies the store’s mission to listen to the customer and help solve their problems immediately, which is very good.

The office chairs here start at THB 1,250 and can go on as much as THB 14,000. We’re glad that a pretty minor player can afford to compete with the big stores in pricing and product variety.

There’s just this one concerning issue we’ve gathered from our respondents: it seems like the service before a sale is good, but after-sales is a different story.

The delivery service provided by Raminthra leaves more to be desired—some reported receiving either a wrong product or a defective one.

Being relatively young in the business, perhaps this issue is still understandable. However, we hope that the store is already taking measures to mitigate this dismal delivery performance for the good of its customers.

Suppose you’re looking for a different kind of office seating, specifically something unique or even out of its time. In that case, Papaya Design Furniture and Studio can be the next destination for your next office chair.

Papaya is actually an antique warehouse established in 1977 by a man lovingly called Mr. Tong. Since childhood, this man has been fascinated by antiques and has made it his life mission to search for and sell key antique finds to his customers.

If you’re not that much into ergonomics and you love antiques, then its selection of office chairs and stools might catch your eyes as they did for us. Although, it’s a bit disappointing to see that its available pieces are pretty limited.

As for the prices, the simple office chairs here can cost from THB 1,500 to 2,000. However, if you want more premium choices like antique or vintage Bauhaus chairs like the La Chaise, they also have that here. 

During our visit, we were unimpressed with the premises because its current warehouse gets quite hot inside – noticeably needing significant repairs. However, we found the arrangement of antique furniture interesting, and that somehow added to the character.

Gladly, we’ve been informed that Papaya is on its way to moving into a new location, which is hopefully just as easy to reach as well. So, we’re excited that the uncomfortable shopping days here are numbered.

We must also mention that the reaction of our respondents about the staff is quite mixed. 

Some were impressed by the staff’s knowledge about the items they were selling. In contrast, others were disappointed during their visit because they didn’t feel welcomed, especially if they were Thai locals. 

We hope that Papaya will take time to reevaluate its customer service since they have been around for quite some time already.

Finally, if you can’t go to the Papaya warehouse, you can also visit its online shop. We like that they offer international shipping as well. 

Our list may not be complete without mentioning one of Thailand’s largest home improvement stores, HomePro. As we’ve also mentioned in our list of the top kitchen cabinet stores in Bangkok, it’s not surprising that it’s also one of our top choices for office chairs.

A quick recap: HomePro was established in 1995 and was publicly listed more than 20 years ago in 2001. It’s undeniably one of the best home supply stores in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand with quality products.

The inventory of office chairs posted on its official website consist of more than 70 models among different brands. We like this variety offered for different types of customers.

Another thing we’re glad about HomePro is that the selections also fit every price point imaginable. You can find a basic office chair for as low as THB 1,000 or buy the most ergonomic and premium one for about 20,000.

As it’s already a very established brand, it’s no surprise that each HomePro store, including the one in Ratchadaphisek, is very organized. 

It also has many sales staff ready to assist with and answer your inquiries. However, ready your patience whenever the sales staff has to go to the storage to get you new stock.

The only thing that we don’t like about the shopping experience here is that lines can get very long, especially during peak hours for holidays. 

Finally, HomePro also offers nationwide deliveriesy. But this service is not free since you’d need to pay a minimum of THB 120, depending on your location.
