If you’d rather go for something familiar and kid-friendly, their Margherita pizza and BLT burger are also fresh and tasty. Everything is prepared with attention to detail, so the dishes looked Instagram-worthy!

Something that caught our attention was their burger specials. Their Panang Chicken Burger is a local twist to your normal chicken burger, made with grilled chicken, mayo, kaffir lime, and pickled cabbage.

Their Deep Blue Burger, which has bacon and blue cheese, is served in a delicious pretzel bun. If you love burrata salad, you’d love its burger version with basil and sun-dried tomatoes.

If you’re looking for a place that is less luxurious and more community-centric, Ska Bar & Kata Seafood Restaurant is a good option. For us, it wasn’t just a dining experience; it was an experience!

We loved the fun reggae and R&B music in the background, people laughing and having a good time, and the beautiful setup of twinkle lights. The feel of the place was fun, relaxed, and reminded us of childhood campsites.

We love how the place is chill; it’s the perfect spot to throw down a few beers, have great conversations, and eat yummy local food.

The service was fantastic, no long waits, and everything was affordable. If you’re staying here for a long time, it’s a good local place to frequent. Their best sellers are barbecued fish, grilled fish, papaya salad, and tom yum.

The grilled fish is cooked just right – smoky, flavorful, and perfect with rice. The papaya salad is sour, spicy, and is a good palate cleanser for your mains. The tom yum was comforting, with generous portions of fresh shrimp and seafood!

We also really like the crab dishes they make. They’re fatty, so it’s an indulgent treat, but definitely worth the calories.

Pro Tip: They sometimes hold fire shows by the beach! It’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

Kampong Kata Hill Thai & Seafood Restaurant

While Kapong Kata Hill Thai & Seafood Restaurant doesn’t do any fancy marketing, it’s well-known in the area for comforting meals, beautiful wooden interiors, warm lighting from lanterns, and friendly service. It’s pretty secluded despite being in an accessible location.

It’s a Thai and Chinese fusion restaurant, which was an interesting combo. The food is delicious and beautifully presented – a feast for both your stomach and your eyes.

We loved the smooth and flavorful Tom Yum soup, spicy Hot Fish Curry, juicy Xiao Long Bao, and flavorful Peking Duck. All of their dishes were mouth-watering, and we ended up eating here more than once.

We also liked the different juices and shakes they have available that are fruity, tangy, and deliciously sweet. The mojitos and cocktails were also out of this world. Overall, we were so glad to have discovered this unique restaurant with an extensive menu!

Pro Tip: For dessert, try their fried sticky rice! It’s made from quality stick rice and is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It’s always freshly made and is very delicious.
