The 4 Best Skydiving Centers in Bangkok

The 4 Best Skydiving Centers in Bangkok

How We Picked the Best Skydiving Centres in Bangkok

Expertise

Since skydiving is a high-risk sport, we only chose centers with highly qualified personnel. We assessed this by checking the USPA certifications, experience, and professionalism of the instructors and staff at each venue.

Facilities

We also examined the amenities, airplanes, location, and gear at the centers to confirm if they can provide a safe and fun skydiving experience for their customers.

Value

Skydiving is an expensive sport. We chose those that offer the best value for money by checking if the quality of service and skydiving experience is worth every penny.

Customer Satisfaction

We based this on the total assessment found in our survey of their clients. Moreover, we also considered relevant information from third-party resources such as Google and Facebook reviews.

Pros

  • Only an hour and a half from Bangkok
  • Welcoming staff
  • Has an online store for skydiving gear
  • Book-now-pay-later option
  • Accepts skydivers as young as eight years old

Cons

  • Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Located only an hour and a half from Bangkok, Skydiving Thailand offers 60 seconds of freefall at 13,300 feet. This center is one of the few closest to the city, making the experience easy and accessible for those looking for a fun and thrilling adventure.

What we like most about Skydiving Thailand is its wide range of services at reasonable prices. Although it doesn’t offer video and photo packages, we still found its services affordable since a tandem jump only costs 8,000 Baht, with the option to add 3,800 Baht for a videographer.

Moreover, it offers a free pick-up and drop-off luxury car service to its customers coming from Pattaya. On the other hand, choosing a roundtrip ride from Bangkok costs 2,600 Baht.

We also like that Skydiving Thailand offers a book-now-pay-later option for its customers who want to secure a date and later pay through cash or card onsite. A PayPal option is also available for those who want to pay ahead of time.

As for its skydive courses, we found that Skydiving Thailand has one of the complete course offerings in the country, with “A” License courses, UPT Tandem Instructor Rating, USPA Coach Rating, all AFF levels and refreshers, and Water Training.

It’s also notable that Skydiving Thailand uses a Pilatus PC-6 aircraft, which can bring ten divers to exit altitude in a couple of minutes. Notably, this plane is often used globally for skydiving due to its sturdiness and short take-off and landing feature.

We found it noteworthy that all instructors at Skydiving Thailand are USPA-certified. Aside from having many years of experience in skydiving, they are all friendly, welcoming, and adhere to strict safety inspections.

Finally, we like that Skydiving Thailand has an online shop for essential gear, with brands like Pro-Fly Suits, Jojo Winds, Altimeters, and Cookie. Customers can conveniently check out their items and have them delivered to their doorsteps or hotels even before the jump.

Pros

  • Has multiple jump points in Thailand
  • Accepts cash and credit card payments
  • Offers the highest tandem skydive in Asia
  • Open every day
  • 25 years of skydiving experience

Cons

  • Can improve customer service
  • Inaccessible location

What we like most about Thai Sky Reservations is that it’s open daily, making it accessible and easier to fit into travel plans and itineraries. However, only limited time slots are available each day, at eight o’clock in the morning and noon.

We also think it’s great that Thai Sky Reservations has plenty of options for its tandem packages, with several photo and video options that best suit a budget. Its basic package is also reasonable at 8,450 Baht.

Customers who opted for videos and photos can choose between documenting their free fall and landing, with the option of adding shots of their parachute ride, and costs from 12,250 Baht to 13,250 Baht.

Still, Thai Sky Reservations stands out from other skydiving centers in Thailand because of its Superstar Dive package. This option boasts tandem diving at 18,000 ft, the highest in Asia, and includes personal oxygen equipment and free fall speeds of up to 220 Kph!

On the downside, we noted several comments from our surveys that have expressed disappointment at the dismal customer service and unfriendly staff. We hope Thai Sky Adventures can improve this aspect to provide a better overall skydiving experience.

We should also mention that its facility is quite inaccessible to public transportation.

Though it’s not difficult to book a taxi to get there, a more convenient option is to have a pre-arranged ride or a rental car going back. A minibus service is available, but this is only free of charge to customers who availed of the tandem skydiving package.

Additionally, although there is a cafe selling snacks and coffee near the reception of Thai Sky Adventures, customers in need of a more filling meal will not find any other dining options in the area. It’s best to bring packed meals or prepare in advance before going to the drop zone.

On a final note, jumping with Thai Sky Diving is a good experience because of the structured management of lifts and its professional instructors. Its 25-plus years of skydiving experience do not disappoint those looking for a thrilling experience.

Pros

  • Jumps at 14,000 ft
  • Has the most affordable rates
  • Offers Kids Jumps for 12 years old and above

Cons

  • Closed on Mondays to Wednesdays
  • Not accessible by public transport

Next on our list is Skydive Thailand, run by AG Global Company Limited, a civilian aviation business licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. Although it was established only in 2019, it has impressive safety measures, and all instructors are USPA-certified.

We’ve noted that many of its customers felt secure because of the relatively new 2017 Pacific Aerospace P750XL used by Skydive Thailand. Furthermore, the aircraft is always flown by a Pilot-in-Command and a Co-Pilot for extra-situational awareness and redundancy.

On the ground, Pacific Aerospace and CAAT-licensed engineer is constantly on standby to perform routine maintenance. Notably, this center offers jumps at 14,000 feet, higher than the standard 13,000 feet offered by other skydiving spots.

We were also impressed by the facilities and amenities at Skydive Thailand’s dropzone premises in Nakhon Ratchasima. While several customers occasionally noted long waiting times, they felt comfortable in the air-conditioned lounges and appreciated the free WiFi.

Skydive Thailand also accepts younger jumpers, with its minimum requirement as 12 years old. However, the management requires written parental consent and accompaniment by a parent or legal guardian on the day of the dive.

The good news is that special rates are available for jumpers with groups of four people or more. Since Skydive Thailand also offers the lowest skydiving rates in Bangkok, which start at 7,500 Baht, getting a group discount makes the experience even more affordable.

Similar to all the other dropzones in Thailand, Skydive Thailand is not accessible by public transport. However, customers who availed of their Gold and Silver Tandem Jump packages get a free roundtrip ride from Bangkok.

On the downside, Skydive Thailand only operates on Thursdays to Sundays. Due to health and safety restrictions, limited tandem jumps are available, so we recommend booking ahead of time to secure a slot.

4. Dropzone Thailand

Pros

  • Panoramic sea views at the dropzone
  • Biggest dropzone in Southeast Asia
  • Friendly staff

Cons

  • Only open on weekends
  • Not accessible by public transport

Another thing that we like about Dropzone Thailand is the breathtaking sights seen during the jump, featuring panoramic tropical sea views. There is also a cafe serving decent food on site, which is a plus in our books!

On the downside, its rates for tandem skydiving are a tad more expensive than other centers in Thailand. Basic jumps cost 8,750 Baht and adding a photo and video option can set you back 14,300 Baht.

Fun jumps for licensed skydivers cost 1,100 Baht, which is also higher than the rates of other skydiving centers on this list. On the other, we appreciate that the management offers refreshers, coaches, canopy assembly, rig cleaning, inspection, and full-rig assembly.

Another drawback is the operating hours since Dropzone Thailand is only open on weekends. Those who want to experience skydiving with them might need to adjust their travel plans when booking a jump.

Nonetheless, we think that Dropzone Thailand is a great option for skydiving in Bangkok due to its beautiful location and high-quality rental equipment. All tandem jumps are equipped with brand new Sigma parachutes, an Automatic Activation Device, and a Skyhook.

Furthermore, all equipment at the center is rigorously inspected to USPA standards by its efficient and friendly staff.

We also found it noteworthy that many customers we surveyed were more than satisfied with the professionalism and cooperation of the management. From booking the jump to landing in the dropzone, we noted that this place has helpful, knowledgeable, and cooperative staff.
