Skateboarding has always been my happy pill. It’s a bit risky, sure, but it’s 101% effective whenever I need to pull myself from a creative rut.
Luckily, Bangkok is bursting at the seams with skate parks! Not all of them are built the same, so I’m glad to say that I’ve been everywhere so I can definitely say where the best ones are (the design matters, if you know what I mean).
So, join me as I give you the lowdown on the top skate parks in the Land of SkatesSmiles and get ready for the time of your life!
Hua Mak Indoor Skatepark

Hua Mak Indoor Skatepark is one of the more popular skate parks in Bangkok. This concrete skate ground is part of the Hua Mak Sports Complex which is accessible via the numerous city buses passing through Soi Ramkhamhaeng 24.
This place is also open to the public so it’s a top pick among skaters of any age and skill level. It also offers a sizable indoor space, so expect to see a wide range of elements and obstacles, from ramps to bumps, hubbas, handrails, and more.
There are sitting areas on the sidelines as well which is great for parents or guardians who plan to accompany and watch their kids while skating. It’s also equipped with large fans which help with ventilation, especially during the day.
Pro Tip:
It’s best to visit this skate park during the night to enjoy a cooler temperature. During this time, you’ll also find a nearby night market, so you’re covered for food and drinks, after skating.
Otherwise, you must bring packed food and drinks during the daytime. Also, this skate park is directly behind Rajamangala National Stadium so you must walk around it to find its entrance.

Baan Preduce Skate Shop and Skatepark is a local haunt for skaters in the Khlong Toei neighborhood. It’s primarily a skate shop, so it’s also a great place to buy skating products, from skateboard decks to skate wax, wheels, helmets, and more.
However, it’s frequented for its free urban skate park. It’s a decent-sized, half-shaded skating ground equipped with numerous obstacles and elements like bowls, ramps, handrails, and curbs.
Plus, they provide tester boards and skating lessons which is great for kids and beginners still trying to get into skateboarding. The skate shop’s on-site cafe which serves a wide selection of drinks is also a plus.
Pro Tip:
Baan Preduce Skate Shop and Skatepark also offer board rentals so you don’t need to own a skateboard if you plan to skate in their skating ground. If you want to skate here without worrying about bumping into kids, we suggest visiting after 6 p.m.
Suan Luang Backyard

Suan Luang Backyard SLB is a DIY skate park tucked away in a sizable vacant lot in On Nut 17 Alley. This concrete outdoor skate park is a passion project by a group of Bangkokian friends so they keep it open to everyone, from beginners to skilled skaters.
Their DIY skating ground features a lot of ramps on the side with a bump and a long spine in the middle section. There’s also a pergola tent with wooden tables and chairs for those who like to sit down and relax.
Plus, this skate park is surrounded by walls filled with colorful street art and graffiti scribbles. This lets you do numerous wall skating tricks, from nose jams to wallies, wall rides, bounce off the walls, and more.
Pro Tip:
It’s best to skate in Suan Luang Backyard from the afternoon until night because the temperature is usually hot during midday. Keep in mind that they don’t have water stations or food options, so be sure to bring your snacks and drinks.
RK69 DIY Skate Park

RK69 DIY Skate Park is a popular outdoor skate park in Bangkok’s southeast end. It’s suitable for kids and adults of all skill levels because it features many elements and obstacles, from banks to vertical walls, quarters, arched grind rails, and more.
This skate park also has a sizable area so there’s enough space and obstacles even if large groups of skaters were to come by. It’s also directly below an elevated highway, so expect to get sufficient protection from the midday sun.
Plus, there will be local vendors selling drinks outside, so you’re covered for refreshments while skating in this public skate park. It’s also fully equipped with lights so you can practice there from night until dawn.
Pro Tip:
This skate park has no public bathrooms so it might not be the most convenient option if you plan to skate for a few hours at least. In fact, your only options are the nearby gas stations.
The nearest one is Bangchak Gas Station along Sukhumvit 77 Road which is an 11-minute walk from RK69 DIY Skate Park.
Pink Skatepark

The Pink Skatepark is a popular open-to-all concrete skate park in the Ekkamai area. It’s under an elevated highway over Somdet Saranrat Maneerom Public Park so it’s a comfortable place to skate from morning to night.
Here, you can try various tricks and maneuvers using the numerous obstacles and elements. This includes pyramids, grind rails, ramps, ledges, and more.
There are 2 portable toilets there as well, so you’re covered for bathroom breaks while skating in this public park.
However, there are no food vendors or water stations in the Pink Skatepark so we suggest bringing snacks and drinks.
Pro Tip:
Some obstacles in the Pink Skatepark are in poor condition so it might not be the best option if you want to try or practice a wide variety of skateboard tricks.
It’s also worth noting that Somdet Saranrat Maneerom Public Park has plenty of stray cats, so be careful around them because some can be aggressive.
Coco Farm Cafe and Skatepark

Coco Farm Cafe and Skatepark is arguably the best free skate park in Bangkok. Its skating rink is fully equipped with a diverse range of elements that support numerous types of skates, from skateboards to rollerskates, inline skates, and surf skates.
These elements include bowls, ramps, quarters, curbs, and more. Moreover, the incline of their skating bowls and ramps ranges from 2 to 7 feet tall so there are plenty of options for beginners and advanced skaters.
Their on-site cafe also offers a nice selection of affordable food and drinks. It also has clean bathrooms and a cozy tropical garden area with benches where you can hang out with friends or relax after an exhausting skating session.
Pro Tip:
This skatepark doesn’t allow visitors to bring outside food and drinks so your only option is to buy from their cafe. Also, they don’t allow children 10 years old and below to use their skating ground without parent or guardian supervision.
IU Skatepark

IU Skatepark is a one-stop skate park in Bangkok. Aside from its outdoor concrete skating ground, it also has a skate shop, a snack bar, and bathroom facilities so you’re covered for everything you’ll ever need for a long skating session.
It also boasts numerous skating obstacles and elements like flat rails, manual pads, grind rails, long quarters, and more. There’s also a line of plastic tables and chairs on the side for visitors or parents who only want to watch the skating action.
This skatepark is also surrounded by numerous lamp posts, so it remains bright until midnight. The free parking and affordable pricing on their food and drinks are also a massive plus.
Pro Tip:
The best time to visit this skate park is on weekdays during the daytime if you like to avoid the crowds who frequent this place at night or during weekends.
Red Bull Skate Park

The recently opened Red Bull Skate Park is the largest indoor concrete skate park in Bangkok. It has a 1,400-square-meter area with numerous zones suitable for beginners and more advanced skaters.
This venue is also filled with colorful graphic art of Russian graffiti artist Pasha Wais which adds to the exciting atmosphere. Here, you can enjoy a variety of obstacles and elements to do all kinds of skating techniques.
These obstacles include manual pads, handrails, stairs, mega ramps, and more. Plus, the Red Bull Skate Park is part of Benchakitti Park, so you have access to many public toilets and water stations.
Pro Tip:
There are no food vendors in Benchakitti Park so be sure to pack food, snacks, and drinks if you plan to stay in Red Bull Skate Park for a few hours.
Surf Galaxy

Surf Galaxy is one of the more kid-friendly skate parks in Bangkok. In fact, it’s a great place for newbie young skaters because they provide free trial lessons for children 4 to 15 years old.
Aside from that, its large indoor space only has a skating bowl and a long stretch of bumps which makes it ideal for beginners. Plus, they provide all the skating equipment and protective gear you need so customers can come here empty-handed.
You can also choose from 4 types of skates: skateboard, inline skate, surf skate, and free skate. There’s also a bathroom and an outdoor pump track in case your kid wants to try bicycle racing.
Pro Tip:
They don’t offer food and refreshments on-site so it’s best to bring packed meals, snacks, and drinks to make the most of the unlimited skating session.
Benchasiri Park Skate Park

Benchasiri Park is home to one of the most accessible skate parks in Bangkok. It’s only a short walking distance from the Phrom Phong BTS train station, so it’s easy to reach from anywhere in the city.
But keep in mind that it’s only a small outdoor skate park so there’s only a handful of elements, from a bank to a ramp, manual pad, table, and grind rail. That makes it a great place for kids and beginners to practice and develop their skating skills.
There’s also a nearby public bathroom and a small shop that sells refreshments. Plus, the park is next to 2 large shopping malls, so you can stroll around, browse the stores, and stay in a cafe or restaurant after your skating session.
Pro Tip:
This skate park is usually packed on weekends so it’s best to visit in the daytime during weekdays. If you’re driving a car to get here, you can park at the nearby Emporium Shopping Mall because they have free parking for 2 hours.
SW13 Skate Garage

SW13 Skate Garage is one of the more unique indoor skate parks in Bangkok. Aside from the typical skating bowls, quarters, and banks, you’ll also see broken-down cars, motorbikes, and car tires scattered around this skating venue.
But its most notable feature is its wooden obstacles and elements which are easy to move around so you can rearrange them however you like. In fact, this is an essential design choice because this place is also used as a photo studio and a fitness gym.
It’s also worth noting that the walls in SW13 Skate Garage are filled with numerous graffiti art and scribbles so you can take plenty of nice photos while skating there.
Pro Tip:
SW13 Skate Garage’s busiest hours are between 5 and 8 p.m. so it’s best to pick a different time to visit if you don’t like to be around many skaters. Food and drinks are also not offered on-site, so must bring them yourself.
Chalongkrung1 Surfskate

Chalongkrung1 Surfskate is a popular outdoor skating spot, especially among university students in the Lat Krabang area. Its obstacles are mostly skating bowls and bumps so it’s suitable for kids and beginners as well.
There’s also an on-site restaurant and cafe, so you’re covered for food, snacks, and drinks during your skating session. It also has plenty of lamp posts, so you can keep skating until late at night.
Rental skateboards and protective gear are also available, so you don’t need to bring anything to skate in this venue.
Pro Tip:
This skate park isn’t shaded so it’s best to skate there in the afternoon or at night to enjoy a cooler and more comfortable temperature.
